For the very first time in her life, baby girl is controlling her head movement tonight. The 7 days and 7 nights in hospital were worth it. This is a small victory for us…We thank God even for such victories too. I never thought I would live to see this day! Ebenezer 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾.

3 months after she was born, she developed a condition called hydrocephalus. She would need a R90k brain surgery which Discovery medical aid refused to pay. I’ll never forgive them for what they put me through. They are no different from others tho. All are white monopoly capital

Between late 2016 & mid 2018, my finances took a nosedive because I was trying to save my daughter’s life. In between everything...trying to live my life, I lost romantic relationships...some loved my daughter...some didn’t like her. I would make excuses when friends warned me.

In between my daughter’s never ending hospitalisations and theatre visits for never ending operations in 2011 & between 2016 & 2018, a handful of good Samaritans reached out to me to assist financially with all the trips I had to do taking my daughter to all kinds of specialists

In between, there was a court case that lasted for a good 5 years (2012-2017) resulting in a host of health problems for me. Ultimately...no one could withstand all the challenges that came with me trying to raise and provide for, and be there for my quadriplegic daughter.

Not that I blame them; my issues were just simply too complex for anyone to handle, myself included. So much so that at some point I got admitted to a psychiatric ward in hospital, diagnosed with major depression.
