Absolutely it does. I could think of a few more as well. If they are used (or evidence of an attempt to use), it’s illegal to “administer noxious substance” under s.245 of the CCC. It’s also illegal to possess anything is a “weapon” under s.88. This is fact specific, and not…

Former veteran Toronto police inspector Hank Idsinga just confirmed to @gregbradyTO on air that the wearing of a series of smoke canisters at a protest does warrant arrest for breach of the peace.

@JacquiDelaney @DavidPasko_OCT This has one purpose and it’s to lead to violence and fear. Doxxing students in an antisemetic rant is not protest, it’s criminal. Enough. Make arrests.

@Ryan_r_Williams @rexglacer Exactly. If the populace feels they cannot rely on the state to protect them (as part of the Hobbesian social contract) we return to a state of fear, war, vigilantism, tribalism, and chaos. This only gets worse the more it is tolerated.

@atrupar @davidfrum More and more we live in a world of “suckerpunch ceasefire” mentality. It doesn’t work that way. It’s endemic at all levels. You don’t get to incur consequence-free violence, threats, or fear. Governments and people are entitled, obligated even, to hit back.

@nationalpost It should have come sooner but it is encouraging to see these criminal acts and anti-semitism won’t be tolerated any more.
