โ๏ธ Visual Development Artist at Marvel Studios
๐ณ๏ธโ๐ Art Director + Comic Artist
๐ผ Past: DC, Marvel, Cartoon Network etc
๐ข All opinions are my own
Does anyone else have that one piece where everything just sort of clicked?
My Wayward variant cover is probably the closest and I'm forever trying to find that visual balance.
Here are a couple of examples of how I approach my illustrations / covers.
I tend to think in a film / photographer mindset - render out the lighting and color grade them at the end.
Hereโs my cover to โBatman: The Adventures Continue Season 2โ out in November! I got to sneak in my cat along with some other Russian Blues.

Fun fact: I use references, I flip stuff in my art (all the time), I've used photos to build backgrounds... heck, I've traced my own references too. It doesn't matter how you get there, so long as you get where you want to be.
(*Don't steal / trace from other artists though)
My rendition of Zatanna - a street magician who pickpockets for the fun of it; but accidentally stumbles upon a bigger secret when one of her marks is carrying a mysterious item...
Who to interpret next...
