Scissortail Park is on its way to becoming a 1st-class shady oasis. We planted 112 Shumard Oaks (Quercus shumardii) along Robinson Grand Promenade. These are an Oklahoma native oak that reaches 75-80' tall & 50-60' wide at maturity. They have a brilliant red/red-orange fall color

A centerpiece for the park is the lake: 3-acres w/ a 240’ pedestrian bridge. The boathouse will offer peddle boat & paddle board rentals. Water is replenished through a French drain system that extends throughout the Park. It will be approx 10-12' deep.

This is Salvia planted in the purple parterre. Each of the parterre compartment gardens are a color: red, white, purple, pink, green, yellow orange & blue. In the purple parterre expect more purple flowers such as asters, lavender, catmint, russian sage, verbena.

Thousands of trees are being planted at Scissortail Park. Many are planted now but there's more to come. A variety of ornamental grasses are getting planted. We are greening a space that used to exist under a highway thanks to the voters of OKC & @Maps3 . #EarthDay
