My favorite part of the Christian Wood signing is that it probably means the end of LeBron James, small-ball center. Those lineups just asked way too much of him on both ends of the floor. Between Wood and Hayes, the Lakers should always have a usable big even when AD is hurt.

LeBron’s best teammate in his first seven years was Mo Williams. Steph’s sixth man in his seventh season (Andre Iguodala) was better than any teammate Bron had in that first stint. Some players are lucky enough to be drafted by the right team. Others have to make their own luck.
