Pleased to see Govt listen to our calls to reform the ULS Scheme, but this change will make little difference to victims, who still have an absolute 28 days to apply, and who are often never even told about the scheme. The rights of offenders and victims must be equal here.

At our synod meeting in Amman we heard an incredibly moving testimony from Suheila Tarazi, Director of our Al Ahli Hospital in Gaza City. She summarised the traumatic experience of these past eight months. What she is doing with the remaining staff is nothing short of a miracle.

As we warned, the early release scheme is "undermining good, safe release planning & risk management". Freeing high risk offenders with a history of DA and stalking early, without adequate probation services, will put victims and the public at risk.
