Today we said an emotional and slightly premature goodbye to year 11. Although the news this week came as a shock, the whole SMSJ community can hold their heads high, knowing they have prepared you for bright futures

“I declare before you all that my whole life, whether it be long or short, shall be devoted to your service,” Queen Elizabeth II 1926 - 2022. May she rest in eternal peace.
A reminder to please be kind to yourselves. We do not expect you to become teachers and your children aren't expected to learn as they do in school.
Take care of your own health and wellbeing. This will be new for your entire household, so give it time to settle.
Congratulations to our amazing SMSJ Primary PE coach - who ran 10k in an incredible 53mins this Saturday! Billy was competing in the Race for Life in aid of Cancer Research UK. So proud of you, Mr Rowe! 🏆💪🏻🎉👏🏻
We were hugely proud to donate all of our Science and DT Safety Goggles to the

at Barnet Hospital. We will be using our laser cutter to manufacture face visors for the hospital next week.

During these uncertain times you have to look for the positives, however small. Neale House Campus had a double rainbow above it today.

Nothing about the last 2 years has been normal or easy to deal with. SMSJ are so proud of our Year 11 students who carried on with
#wisdom
and
#hope
. They truly deserve these results!
What an absolutely amazing school trip. You did yourselves proud! Excellent attitudes, grit and determination, and a strong emphasis on having a good time. Ski Trip 2024: over and out.

Great to be able to deliver our first batch of face shields to local

this week with the focus on Hope. One of Year 2 students enjoyed creating his own El Salvadorian cross, influenced by his favourite stories from the Bible. Mother and son also bonded together, during the time they spent on the topic.

We continue to mark the beginning of Lent with reflective

services for all year groups. Students responded thoughtfully to this most important service led by

, accompanied beautifully by Mr Terry, our new Director of Music, on the organ.
After 3 days of inset training we are looking forward to welcoming everyone back next week. We have a staggered start system in place for next week, so make sure you’ve checked your year group details. See you soon!
We are filled with pride with the achievements of our ‘Golden Year Group’ who had already created a legacy of resilience + success as our 1st ever year 11 cohort, shaping a path that is uniquely and undeniably theirs; ‘with God, all things are possible’
An amazing performance by our KS3 dance troupe this evening. Their powerful interpretation of young people’s battle with mental health got glowing feedback from the judges and won them a place to represent Barnet at the London Youth Games.
Congratulations to our deputy head girl - a 2:1 in her essay on the human rights impacts of the Belo Monte Dam. She is part of the K+ programme run by King’s College London and is now eligible for a reduced offer to study at King’s! Amazing from our first 6th Form cohort!

SMSJ staff have been painting Crosses of Hope ready for our new start back in permanent classrooms in September. The standard set has been high! Watch this space as others rise to the challenge…
It was fantastic to welcome our new Year 12 cohort to SMSJ. A morning spent listening to inspiring industry professionals and getting to grips with the expectations of life in the VI Form. Looking forward to a successful year.
SMSJ are so proud of this year 6 student who has used
#lockdown
to raise nearly £800 for his scout troop by climbing the equivalent of Ben Nevis, Snowden, Scafell Pine and Slieve Donard in 4 weeks. That’s 1,834 flights of stairs!! Impressed

Year 11 were sent on their way with messages of support and wisdom. Against incredibly difficult circumstances this year group have remained a bonded and positive group of young people of whom SMSJ are incredibly proud. Show the world what you are made of!
Due to the significant snowfall overnight, we are unable to safely open the school today, therefore all 3 sites will be closed. We will continue to monitor the situation throughout the day.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
Our SMSJ community is celebrating another set of outstanding GCSE results which are the highest we have ever achieved. The Year 11 students and their skilled teachers have worked incredibly hard to achieve some fantastic results.
Ski update: if we’re honest it’s been a tough morning as it has rained heavily. BUT we’re still smiling and we’re learning well. Lunchtime gives us time to warm up.
A beautiful evening of music at our Summer Concert. It was amazing to hear our full orchestra, talented musicians and choirs perform. With thanks to

On International Women’s Day we ‘choose to challenge’. Here is a selection of women from history who have done just that. Let the History Team know who you would add to this illustrious group!
