@emmadegotardi @AllanSeymour1 Well said, Emma. 120 straight days of pressers is not the behaviour of a dictator. He kept the hard lockdown firmly in place until it was safe to reopen and not a day longer than was needed. Had he reopened any earlier, there likely would have been a third wave within weeks.

@kazza264 @PRGuy17 The only way we could have reopened following the second wave was to go for 0, and even then we had to maintain some restrictions as there were no vaccines at the time. And we definitely couldn’t have reopened with Delta around until we had high vaccination rates.

@broadwaybabyto @colleenmmck618 Whilst the restrictions were horrible in many ways and in my case they resulted in my grandfather’s funeral having to be postponed on several occasions, at the end of the day, they saved lives while we waited for vaccines to go in arms. @PRGuy17 If we hadn’t had 340K Pfizer doses nicked and redirected to NSW and had other supplies, the Delta lockdown would have lasted 6-8 weeks instead of 11. Anyone who thinks that’s on Dan hasn’t got their head screwed on properly. It’s on Scomo.
