Sharing your life with animals is such a wonderful experience. Its also heartbreaking when they pass away. Rosie died on Thursday, she fell asleep in her favourite sunbathing spot. She was 11. She was such a beautiful soul.
Charlie, shortly after he came to us. He'd had a bad start to life, abandoned on someones patio for 7 days, his back legs very weak. After round the clock care he came right. Five years on he still looks at us this way.

What is it about the fox that makes some people act so violently just to be able to kill it. They must be wired differently, I couldn't sleep at night if I had snuffed out such a beautiful life.

Is there anything more beautiful in our countryside than the fox.
It staggers me, that some people think they have the right to remove such beauty.

Thank you for all the wonderful comments today, it's comforting to realise Rosie touched so many people during her life. I'm going to be a bit quiet on social media for a while, but I'll be back and posting the odd photo of Rosie and the rest of the gang soon, thank you.
If you saw yesterdays cub pic with the baguette. This is dad, returning from the cafe with a selection of sandwiches for his family.

Eyes bigger than its belly. When you're lucky enough to be born near a friendly cafe that puts left overs out for dad. Todays

This 28-year-old chimp was in absolute awe when she went outside and saw the sky for the first time ever. She had survived a research lab in New York, where animals were kept in small cages.
Just incase you didn't believe yesterdays post, about Charlie running towards the biscuit tin. Here's a couple of pics of him enjoying afternoon tea.

Proof, foxes are much more civilised than those that hunt them.
Two of my ginger girls yesterday. Isn't it absolutely stomach churning, that in 2019 we will have a new PM that finds it acceptable for one of these to rip the other apart in the name of sport. No-one who finds this acceptable should be anywhere near a position of power.
So todays the start of the "traditional" fox hunting season, though they've been cubbing for months. Imagine the mind set to inflict so much terror on such a sentient being.

Why is it, those who claim to speak for the countryside, can't see the beauty in it. Is this an unrealistic image of a fox, or would you prefer that of a dead fox strapped to a car at

1/2 Today, hunts will parade through towns and villages and then go out and kill foxes in the most savage and illegal way. Can you imagine other criminal gangs being allowed to parade through the streets.
@ChrisGPackham
#FoxOfTheDay
Because it's fox cub season. One of my most popular images, the "Baguette fox". This urban living fox family knew where the local cafe was and used it to full effect.
#FoxOfTheDay
Maybe a picture of Charlie as a cub, is what people could do with in these terrible times. He had been abandoned for a week when he came to us, all he wanted was to feel safe.
Despite what the gutter press are saying. There is no infestation of adders anywhere. They will not chase you, they will only bite you if you threaten them and pick them up. Please, just go about your day and allow adders to do the same. They're a declining species as it is.
In all the years I've campaigned for foxes, its always baffled me how much criminality is tolerated and enabled by the authorities and those in power. All to destroy one of our most iconic and beautiful wild animals.

The look of joy on Charlies face as he sees its snowed over night. Remember if you see a fox hunt parading through your town or village today, their aim is to kill these sentient beings in the most barbaric way. Don't support them.

Can you believe you can buy Hedgehog killer in the UK. Well thanks to
@FerberPainting
you can, as well a badger, fox, weasel killer.
@DefraGovUK
what are you going to do about it.
Happy mothers day. Maddy our wonderful terrier, who's been a surrogate mum to 3 foxes. Rosie, Hetty and Charlie love her so much.

If you saw yesterdays post, Maddy and Rosie soon out grew the basket to sleep in. It's pictures like these that show just how depraved fox hunting is. Needless to say, I sat on the floor.
Look at the trust in Charlies eyes. What kind of a monster do you have to be, to even consider feeding him alive to a pack of dogs. Had a rant on FB about the pathetic sentencing of the cub case.
The nose that knows I have treats. Had a bit of fun with Charlie and a wide angle lens yesterday. The lens needed a good clean from all the nose prints. Todays

Helen dislikes me using the C word. I know of no other word that describes this piece of sh!t so well though. Imagine living a life filled with such hatred and self loathing that you do this to such a wonderful animal.
Seeing as the CA blocked me yesterday for posting a photo of these 2, here's another. Two sentient beings clearly enjoying each others company and having fun. Have to wonder why the CA hates these photos so much.

The same city living fox as yesterdays post. Life is good for this chap, locals looking out for you, chicken dinners delivered and a large cemetery that closes to the public in the evening.

Last post for a week. Thought I'd leave you with an old image of Charlie as a youngster and his best mate Maddy. After an hour playing in the garden, they came in and crashed.

images to start the weekend. Dispelling the myth that dogs will hunt foxes instinctively. They have to be trained to hunt foxes, it's no accident.
Well, that didn't take long after my post this morning. Here's another photo of 2, well 3 if you count me, highly intelligent sentient beings. None of us deserve to be ripped apart by a pack of dogs.

Charlie with his body guard. Don't forget, if you see packs of hounds out, there is illegal fox hunting going on. Trail hunting is a smoke screen, from the mouths of the hunting office and as seen on Ch4 news this week.

"Besties". Who'd have though that Maddy, our Lakeland/Patterdale cross was bred by terrier men. Both old girls now, but living their best life.
What a week when the reality of fox hunting was exposed. Now the Hunting office has put a stop to terrier work on fox hunts (been illegal for over 15 yrs mind). Heres a young Rosie with the only kind of terrier work she's ever known.

(8848.86 m). It's high time we address this issue with urgency and commitment. Let's demand stricter regulations, enforcement of clean climbing practices, and effective waste management strategies. Video
So the latest plan from this government,
@NaturalEngland
@TonyJuniper
@NFU
@DefraGovUK
is now the localised extinction of badgers. FFS don't any of the other stake holders of our countryside have a say, you know, like the general public.
After seeing that vile video yesterday of a terrier man training his dog to kill foxes. A young Rosie and Maddy showing what happens if you treat animals with kindness and love. Maddy was bred by a terrier man, her life could have been so different.
