Today marks the 150th anniversary of the Peshtigo fire, the deadliest fire in U.S. history. The fire on October 8, 1871 is believed to have killed over 2,000 people. The effects were felt in communities across northeastern Wisconsin, as it burned over 1.2 million acres of land.
