Know your safe place in case a tornado threatens your area.
✅ Get to a safe room, basement, storm cellar, or small interior room on the lowest level of a sturdy building.
❌ Stay away from windows, doors, and outside walls. Do not go under an overpass or bridge.
Explosive Thunderstorm development is expected within this Particularly Dangerous Situation (PDS) Tornado Watch across parts of TX, OK, and KS this afternoon. PDS tornado watches are only issued when multiple strong or violent tornadoes are expected to occur.
Severe weather is forecast across parts of the Midwest today. Have different ways to receive emergency alerts and listen to your local officials to receive the latest updates.
Be prepared to take shelter If necessary.

A dangerous outbreak of severe thunderstorms is expected this afternoon into tonight across parts of central/eastern KS and much of OK. Multiple strong, long-track tornadoes, very large hail (2-4 inch) and damaging gusts to 80 mph are all possible this afternoon into tonight.
Nebraska: Federal assistance is available to supplement recovery efforts in the areas affected by the recent tornadoes. Individuals & business owners who sustained damages in Douglas & Washington counties may be eligible for individual assistance.
