Not every villain needs a tragic backstory of abuse/neglect/mental illness/financial hardship or some sort of persecution. Some folks don't REALIZE the harm they do, don't CARE who they hurt, or even ENJOY hurting others. In fact, abuse of privilege should be a more common MO.
