Why is there a fee reduction? By using a Solver through @CoWSwap , you proof that you are (very likely) not a bot. Because bots don't want to wait 1-2 blocks (for the auction) and settle for an unknown price. This lowers the risk of LVR, and Balancer can lower your fees.

How can you overcome gas? Let someone else pay for your gas by being patient, and piggy-backing on larger trades. (this is a true saving, v.s. “gasless” where you still pay but simply in another token).
