I see Divock Origi has made the bench recently. Remember Dortmund away? Remember the derby goal? The hat trick at Southampton? He’s not everyone’s cup of tea but we could do far worse for a back up striker.
No matter what happens with Endo now, no one will ever convince me that the lad wasn’t an absolute steal at £16M.
His performances against Chelsea at Wembley and City at home will live long in the memory.
He ran out of steam in the end, but didn’t the whole squad?
In years to come, Salah, Mane and Firmino will be remembered as fondly as the likes of Keegan, Dalglish, Rush, Barnes and Suarez.
Legends all three of them.
🇪🇬 🇸🇳 🇧🇷
Chamberlain - A rejuvenated footballer until Roma injury. Never the same since.
Keita - Talented payer, not the one we thought we were getting. Not available enough.
Milner - Man for all seasons. Legend.
Firmino - Pure class. Greatest Brazilian to play in the Prem. Legend.
My dad decided that it was time to pay on the gates at the great Kop in the sky yesterday.
I still get goosebumps now of him telling me about St. Etienne or Geoff Strong’s goal against Celtic.
John Simpson. Toxteth’s finest. A great Red but an ever better dad.
1944 - 2019.
Mad how there’s not one Scouser in the city of Liverpool that supports LFC, yet there are enormous queues for the new kit at the club shop at Anfield.
Some commitment from all the overseas Reds that.

@Arsenal
I don’t think anyone up here forgets that Arsenal players gave out bouquets of flowers in memorial to those who died at Hillsborough before the title deciding match in 1989.
It was a great gesture then and a great gesture today.
In an era where footballers are going for hundreds of millions, Andy Robertson, at £8M was an absolute steal.
Rival fans hate him, which makes me love him even more. ❤️🏴
Just bought eight “Off to the match I go” badges.
To be worn by me, my brothers, nephews and my wife at my dad’s funeral this Thursday.
Dad was the reason we’re all LFC mad.
@mcveigh_owen
Don’t anyone ever talk to me about Trent Alexander Arnold’s defensive abilities again. Stuck to his task against a tricky winger and still had time to run the show.
A Scouse masterclass. 👌🏻
One thing that’s always baffled me is how John Barnes isn’t in some kind of role at LFC. He overcame terrible racial abuse in such a dignified way and also happened to be a truly world class footballer too. If that’s not the make up of a great ambassador, I don’t know what is.
Our beautiful mum passed away today. It’s one cruel disease cancer but Scouse mums never go down without a fight.
Marie Simpson 1948-2020.
Our very own angel looking down on us now. Love and adore you forever mum. God bless. x
You see all kinds of compilations on here of great defenders throughout history but very little of this man. Mark Lawrenson.
A mate of mine, a very shrewd Red, rated him above Hansen. Controversial but speaks volumes about his ability.
Saw a few dopes on here today claiming Carragher was an average defender. He wasn’t blessed with pace or skill but there were very few who could read the game like him. Surely the most important trait for a centre half?
25yrs ago today I made my debut for
@LFC
away at Middlesbrough! I’m a very lucky boy to have played for this great club for so long & to have had so many great memories ⚽️❤️
#LFC
@SenneH1990
@scousenat
Class that from Edwards. Obviously disappointed for his own team but shows the warmth to acknowledge the kid and a nod to his dad.
@TheAnfieldWrap
The Chelsea rocket at Anfield, Kop end. It was the last one my dad ever saw of his beloved Reds. Very fitting that it was an absolutely brilliant one.
I’ll only ever have affection for Jordan Henderson.
His biggest obstacle was that he wasn’t Steven Gerrard.
A league, European cup and domestic cup winning Liverpool captain.
Being Jordan Henderson was well enough for me.
Thanks Skip. ❤️💪🏻
Anyone notice in stoppage time on Sunday Quansah sending a pass forward for Trent, Newcastle regaining possession and Salah filling in for our vice captain? Ended up furthest man back, Mo.
One hell of a footballer him. And not just for his ability going forward.
🇪🇬 👑
@btsportfootball
Not only is this disrespectful to the likes of Forest and Villa. It’s also disrespectful to footballers like Best, Charlton, Dalglish, Souness, who have won it with the clubs mentioned, just under a different name. Same trophy too.
How many times did United beat Liverpool in the 80’s when we were the better of the two teams?
How many times did Liverpool beat United in the 90’s when they were the better of the two teams?
And that’s why Sunday is still a difficult task.
I don’t think that homecoming will ever be beaten. Easily a million in town.
For Reds my age (25 then!) this was the first European we remember.
I was a toddler in the glory years.
@talkSPORT
Seeing that all everyone ever wants to talk about is the Premier League era, only three defenders have won PFA player of the year since the 1992-93 season.
Paul McGrath 🇮🇪
John Terry 🏴
Virgil Van Dijk 🇳🇱
No greater compliment from your peers.
@SKB10_
If Carragher was Italian, he’d be lauded for his defensive abilities. No frills but for reading the game and putting his body on the line in 2000’s, there weren’t many better.
@JAMES77458423
Wasn’t this at an empty Anfield?
The same fans say we only won the league in a Covid season but value this as a great win.
Make your mind up! 😂
Marvelous Marvin Hagler vs. Thomas “Hitman” Hearns, Round 1. If you’ve seen it, I don’t need to say more. If you haven’t, the next three minutes may change your goddamn life.
@Football__Tweet
I prefer the press conference the night before Liverpool v Chelsea CL semi final 05.
“Rafa, Jose Mourinho has never lost a semi final!”
“He will tomorrow!”
🇪🇸 👑
Juventus away in 2005 has got to go down as one of Liverpool’s greatest ever away performances. A defensive masterclass.
Look at the difference in quality of those teams.
@LFC
These fellas ARE the club, aren’t they? Spend all their money and time travelling everywhere watching the Reds. I don’t know Lenny personally but you just know he was the very epitome of the word supporter.
It’s usually our Adam I’m posting about at the match (he is there!) but tonight it’s our Katy’s first ever game.
Bring us luck, my little Liver bird. ❤️
@DanRatcliffe12
@RoryHegarty
Well said mate. I think some of your fellow Geordies might have mistaken it as a sign of disrespect, when it was the exact opposite. Our fans have done it before in times of sadness or hardship for others.
So humbled by the turnout at my dad’s funeral today. It says a lot about the man that there were as many tears of joy as there were of sadness.
God bless dad...and have a word with the man upstairs about that Messi fella eh?
Chief scout monitors a player for a few months.
Manager is spotted in the crowd watching the player.
Deal arranged in a motorway service station.
In the Echo the next day holding a scarf in front of the Kop.
Bring back the 80’s.
Henderson.
Some want rid but I think most would agree that a player with that amount of experience & attitude is well worth keeping around.
A starter week in week out? Maybe not. But a Liverpool midfield with 2/3 new boys will need guidance. No better man for that than JH.
Absolutely brilliant photo of my late dad and my brothers, Martin and John at Wembley for the 1979 charity shield.
(I was born the week before!)
@scouserjohnny
Give me a goal that broke your heart.
Maybe it was in a cup final, a local derby or a title decider.
My heartbreaker was Eric Cantona’s goal in the 1996 cup final. United were as bad as us that day.
Sobbed my 15 year old heart out that day. 😢💔⚽️
Gravenberch will get the headlines. Proper athlete him, but every time I see Endo, I’m impressed.
Good in possession, tenacious and energetic. Really good cover in the squad now.
For fans of any team ⚽️
You can bring back 3 players from the past to improve your clubs current situation, which 3 would you choose?
I’d go for
Rush to finish those chances off
Barnes to create the chances & score a few himself
& Gerrard to do pretty much everything.
We’ll look back on Thiago’s Liverpool career in a few years like we did with the likes of Riedle, Litmanen, Morientes and Maxi Rodriguez. Class acts who you wish we’d signed a bit younger.
Injuries have dogged him, sadly.
Nearly a week since we won it. Have we been unbearable? I hope so. This is payback for...
Hicks & Gillet
The Hodgson months
The Gerrard slip
Palace 3-3
The Villa semi final
Stoke 6-1
Basel
Kiev
Missing out on the league by a point.
Sometimes they say you learn things from a defeat.
Today we learnt that this ‘new’ Liverpool are full of heart.
Totally proud of them.
Up the f*cking Reds. Always. ❤️
@thecityshack
@ManCity
@LFC
@premierleague
Not true that mate.
City didn’t win the league til 1937. At that point Liverpool had four.
Premier League titles are a bit different of course but if football only started in 1993, we have to dismiss the great Colin Bell era and that would be a real shame.
Sami Hyypia became a Red on this day in 1999. What a signing it was! Liverpool paid Willem II £2.5m for the Finnish centre-back who would spend 10 amazing years at Anfield. He never held back, he always wanted to serve Liverpool FC in the best way he could. Thank you Sami!
Just seen that it’s Kevin Keegan’s birthday.
I don’t think he gets spoken about enough by Reds. Probably because of the way he left and who replaced him. Heard all the stories from my old fella though.
What a player.
@pboro5times
I was thinking at the match the other night, he’s becoming the latest target for the moan merchants, Gakpo, isn’t he?
Our top scorer in the league cup this season.
There’s loads more to come from him.
Name me a footballer who didn’t play for a traditionally big club but had more than enough ability to play for one.
I’m going to throw in 1990’s goalscoring midfielder, Robbie Earle, as my selection.
Wimbledon and Jamaica legend.
⚽️🇯🇲👌🏻
One of the great Liverpool banners this.
It’s message doesn’t only apply to cup finals and title races, you know?
Through the wind and the rain.
Always.
@bkelly776
I always remember a Juve banner when we played them saying something like ‘Camilla is ugly!”
Sorry lads but that’s mild compared to what we’d call her! 🇮🇹 😂
The subs made all the difference there.
Curtis Jones was the calmest man on the pitch when he came on. Robbo showed his experience and so happy for Gakpo too.
We might not win this league in the end but friggin hell, they’re giving us our moneys worth aren’t they?
Great being in the new Anfield road end tonight with the little Simmo’s.
37 years to the day of my first ever game. A 1-0 win, strangely over Southampton.
Things are getting tough though. We haven’t won a trophy since Sunday afternoon. 😉
The obsession around Bellingham ever since we were first linked with him has been ridiculous.
He might be brilliant but I don’t know, I don’t watch the Bundesliga. If we don’t sign him, the world is full of very good midfielders. Just go and get one or two of them instead. 🤷🏻♂️
My brother was at Hillsborough. He arrived home late that night safe, thankfully.
So many weren’t that lucky.
Thinking of everyone who was affected or lost loved ones that day.
YNWA ❤️
@_pauljoyce
Not the worst thing for either of the Liverpool lads. Jones has had injuries and could probably do with some time off and for Quansah, just being in the preliminary England squad shows how far he’s come this season.
@LFC
How lovely is this? You should always treat the staff, normal people, with the respect. It looks like the club have done that. Happy retirement Graham.
My abiding memory of Ray Clemence. I think it proves how loved he was by all Liverpool fans.
Quite simply our greatest ever keeper. Seemed an absolute gentleman too.
Between the sticks in the great Kop in the sky now. YNWA Clem. ♥️😢
