Winter Storm Warning now in effect from 4pm Thursday through 1pm Friday, for all of the Bay Area above 1500' elevation. It's the first Winter Storm Warning in the Bay Area since February 2011 — by FAR the longest any NWS office had gone without issuing such a warning!

Fun with fitness trackers: in my almost-eight years in Nashville, I jogged roughly 4600 miles. Roughly the distance from Nashville to Stockholm, Sweden. So it’s like a trip to Scandinavia, but without going there. With the added bonus of knee pain.

A few showers are moving through the Bay Area this evening. Most of the rain is evaporating, but fortunately we haven’t seen any lightning yet! The rain at sunset, combined with the wildfire smoke, produced one of the eeriest rainbows I’ve ever seen, out over the Bay.
