Today, as people in the Republic get a chance to #VoteYes to #repealthe8th , I’m thinking of the near-1,000 women from Northern Ireland forced to travel to Britain every year & the many more taking pills without medical supervision. Their turn next. #ItsTime It’s past time.

Almost three-quarters of people in Northern Ireland believe integrated schools should be the main model for our education system. I hope our Ministers and MLAs are paying attention.

Sorry to see that two Northern Ireland MEPs, Diane Dodds and Jim Nicholson, also voted to protect Victor Orbán’s nasty government. Fortunately, enough of European Parliament voted differently.

We note with disappointment that Conservative Party MEPs have voted in defence of Hungary’s populist, right-wing government of Viktor Orban. Full statement by @BoDPres Marie van der Zyl in photo: #humanrights #antisemitism #racism #Hungary #ViktorOrban

Landmark decision for press freedom today as Belfast High Court rules against police in ‘No Stone Unturned’ case. Meanwhile, 26 years on, no one has been brought to justice for Loughinisland killings.

Investigations by Police Ombudsman & Policing Board of PSNI policing of #BlackLivesMatter protests found it was “unlawful” and “discriminatory”. Not a single officer who directed operations faced consequences. Not a single fine or prosecution has been rescinded. Accountability?

Mary McAleese is a hero to the LGBTI community in Ireland - for simply loving her son, and supporting his right to be equal under the law. It seems the Vatican can’t stomach that. Truly, awfully sad.
