I may be a middle class Irish speaker, but if you argue for Irish only exemptions, optional Irish and reduction in its status, you are arguing for an Ireland where ONLY the middle class, neurotypical, privileged etc can access the language and for the extinction of An Ghaeltacht.

An rud is measa faoin Bhéarla mar ábhar scoile ná na scéalta agus dánta leadránacha ar fad. Agus an ghramadach chasta. Agus an fhoghraíocht chiotach. Ba cheart é a mhúineadh mar "theanga bheo". Ranganna cainte dos na bants, tá's agaibh.

Gaeilge ar fáil ar na huaireadóirí glice atá ag @samsungireland Is mór liom seo, ar bhealach atá deacar a mhíniú. Mothaím scoiteadh amach ón teicneolaíocht go minic toisc go mbíonn sé ar fad i mBéarla don chuid is mó.

Moladh amháin do dhaoine atá ag tógáil páistí le Gaeilge, ach go háirithe i dteaghlaigh dhátheangacha agus/nó leasmuigh don Ghaeltacht. Ná cailligí misneach. Tiocfaidh sí. Leanaigí oraibh. Ná stopaigí .Tiocfaidh an lá.

Más mian libh an Ghaeilge a chaomhnú, labhraígí í, tógaigí bhur bpáistí le Gaeilge, le meas ar an nGaeilge, le meas ar phobal na Gaeilge. #L áIdirnáisiúntanaMáthairtheangacha

My younger son has been in Ireland less than four years and today he got the results of his 1st test in Irish at his secondary school (ούτε 4 χρόνια στην Ιρλανδία κ τους έσκισε στα Ιρλανδικά όλους τους Ιρλανδούς στην τάξη του)! Big thanks to all his teachers in our village!

Only the supercolonised would gleefully, willingly or even passively accept the linguicide that strips all meaning from their own names, their own placenames.
