Bill Gates says wealthy countries should stop eating meat and choose plant-based alternatives to combat climate change. Let’s not consider that he has investments in synthetic meat companies or that he’s now the largest owner of US farm land (or if climate change is real).

For many, beef is the most preferred source of food on the carnivore diet. Even some of us who loved spare ribs and chicken wings, begin to shift to an all beef diet. I still recommend a variety on a carnivore diet for nutrient density.

Sardines are high in vitamin D3 and E. If you’re worried about PUFAs in fish, you have the vitamin Es in sardines to offset the PUFAs. Funny how nature does its own balancing when we just let it be. Sardines with its calcium, vitamin D and fats is superfood for bone health.

Climate change isn’t caused by livestock. During the pandemic, animals were never shut down yet the air was cleaner. Vegan meats won’t make a dent in climate change. They’re from monocrops that cause MORE harm to the environment than any type of livestock.

The highest amounts of DHA are found in fish and shellfish. 🌰Seeds and nuts are not a good source for complete Omega-3s because our bodies need DHA, and the body does not convert ALA to DHA efficiently— it’s less than 1%. Any plant-based dietitian tell you this nuance?

On average, brisket is $3-4 a pound, and if you get the untrimmed version, you can get more of the high-quality beef fat. Brisket has a high level of oleic acid (omega-9 fatty acid), which reduces the risk of heart disease by raising your HDL markers. Olive oil does this as well

If you’re deficient in magnesium, you can’t metabolize vitamin D well. You also need good gallbladder/liver function to best utilize vitamin D. Vitamin D low? Look at magnesium. Low in magnesium? Look at your sugar load. Eat a rainbow of meats. Your body will thank you for it

We tend to think beef has more nutrients than chicken but based on the USDA, chicken liver has more: Calcium Iron Magnesium Selenium Vitamin C Thiamin Biotin Folate Vitamin E ⚠️If you also worry about copper toxicity or vitamin A toxicity, chicken liver has less of both.

The body can only make a small amount of DHA from other fats so you need it from food. The brain is a fatty organ, 10%-20% of its total fats are DHA. Of the PUFAs in the brain, 90% are DHA, which is concentrated in the brain's gray matter. (What if you're afraid of PUFAS?! 🙃)

You may think this isn’t a fair comparison, as plants are loaded with nutrients. But if most are bound by antinutrients like oxalates, lectins, and phytates and damage the gut wall, does it matter? And bioavailability of proteins in plant foods is low. I’ll stick to meat. 🥩

These powders contain toxins like arsenic, cadmium and lead and in high amounts. In 2018, the Clean Label Project tested 134 protein powders for 130+ toxins and found that plant-based products were the highest carrier of toxins with 75% of the products testing positive for lead.

Eat the food you can afford. An obese person eating a SAD diet will be leaps and bounds healthier eating ONLY conventional ground beef, eggs and bacon, EVERY SINGLE DAY. Our communities need to heal. And we need to start by making food as medicine accessible for everyone.

I’ll always advocate for a carnivore diet. And while carnivore is powerful, it’s not always the end-all answer for healing. When we eat one kind of meat because that’s all we tolerate—that’s not optimal healing. It’s a band-aid. Fight for more.

As pea protein extracts are not considered food but a supplement, the companies are not required to provide nutritional values. Pea proteins aren’t regulated by the FDA. Extracting proteins from dry peas will likely remove most nutrients but they aren’t responsible to share.⠀
