me: gives birth jan 31st. was given covid test upon admission to maternity ward. test comes back positive. however baby and I are totally fine, we all leave hospital on feb 1st.
BC government: *counts me as an unvaccinated covid-19 hospitalization*
The murder of 13-year old Marissa Shen by 28-year old Syrian refugee Ibrahim Ali happened in the course of a sexual assault.
The media stories that chose to take away from Marissa Shen's horrific death by talking about how we need to love all refugees disgust me
Hey does everyone remember
@Laurier
profs Rambukkana and Pimlott, who brought me into a discliplinary meeting (which I recorded) where they accused me of transphobia & threatening trans ppl & breaking the law becuz I played a clip from public television?
They're suing me!
This is all the
@HaltonDSB
has to say for themselves? That there is a dress code for students, not for staff, and that we need to use respectful pronouns? A male teacher is wearing kink gear in front of students to sexually excite himself, and this is the pathetic response...
Moral of the story: A university must be repeatedly publicly shamed, internationally, in order to apologize (oh, but keep the task force & investigation). Even then, ambiguous about free speech. Also, make sure to secretly record all meetings or they won't take you seriously.
A Vice article titled "Wilfrid Laurier Exonerates Lindsay Shepherd, We Can All Move On Now"
No, we can't all move on now. How dismissive of the bigger issues. This kind of thing will keep happening, until we stop pandering to authoritarian leftists
I just called the manager of New York Fries to see if this was true. It's not. The manager witnessed this interaction. All that happened was that Yaniv approached (surprise, surprise) a female Indian cashier, ordered & then left quickly, & Yaniv's mom came & yelled at them
I will not be wearing orange this weekend because to do so would convey that I am OK with being misled about the history of Canada, and that I am OK with various First Nations claiming they have found 'unmarked graves of missing children' without presenting reliable evidence.
Due to this tweet, my prof cancelled class for the rest of the semester
Ridiculous
If my classmates think their views are defensible, they won't have a problem being (anonymously) quoted on them
Steps to becoming a female right-wing online celebrity:
1. Post picture of self with gun
2. Recite pro-life talking points in a Youtube video wearing low-cut shirt and push-up bra
3. Post picture of self with MAGA hat
4. Rant about hating feminism
5. Success!!! $$$
I want to note that I have received numerous kind & supportive messages from LGBTQ people, who tell me they are disheartened by the tactics of the WLU Rainbow activists, and that those activists do not speak for them. Important to keep in mind.
"The film presents evidence that most children with gender dysphoria eventually overcome the feelings without transitioning and questions the science behind the idea that a boy could somehow be born with a 'female brain' or vice versa."
Is that why CBC won't air it?
In light of our own further review of the doc, coupled with audience reaction, we have decided not to air Transgender Kids. We think there are other docs that better offer insight into the realities of the transgender community and we look forward to airing those in the future.
Many people seem to think that just because I question/criticize someone's words, it automatically means I want them silenced. Couldn't be further from the truth. I believe people should say whatever they please, no matter how distasteful. Then, we talk about it. Public sphere!
Translation: "Lindsay Shepherd should be quiet so that we can continue pushing our ideological agenda undisturbed and without opposition. Let's reduce people's real concerns to 'moaning.' Let's stifle debate and heterodoxy to make sure no one ever questions us."
For anyone who is going to be hiring a grad from WLU's M.A. Communication Studies or M.A. Cultural Analysis & Social Theory program: be very, very careful that you are not hiring an authoritarian ideologue with no original thoughts. These programs breed them.
Everyone blames Youtube algorithms for "right wing radicalization", but you know what actually radicalizes people? Leftist city councillors saying we shouldn't have xmas tree lights, poinsettias, and holly because it supposedly offends Muslims.
Situations that make university students feel as if they are in imminent danger:
1. Class discussions
2. Ben Shapiro speaking on campus (akin to Charlottesville)
Prof of my CQ602 grad course just told me to put away my laptop in class. I pointed out we are allowed to have them to take notes as per the syllabus. After I pressed the issue, she said straight-up she doesn't want me to record her.
The investigation into the Harassment & Discrimination complaint filed against me has been completed, but I'm not allowed to let anyone know whether I was found guilty or not guilty, even without giving any detail, because telling people the result would be... "harassment." 🙃
My experience today at the justice committee was eye-opening. Can't believe our country is run by such intellectually empty snakes. I have a lot to say so I will make a YouTube video as soon as I can.
Imagine 2 sociology profs use your M.A. proposal presentation to tell you their personal opinions on Faith Goldy and ask you snidely if you believe flat earth theory should be taught by geography depts, rather than giving constructive feedback like they did for the other students
Re: those claiming I have a right-wing agenda: Unfortunately, you have missed the point. Freedom to circulate ideas and debate current affairs is everyone's issue. I am a leftist. But I do not represent the leftism of Rambukkana/Pimlott, who believe in shutting down opposition.
Aadita Chaudhury may be liable for slander. She says I'm a white alt-right ethnonationalist/white supremacist who associates with Nazis & advocates for a white ethnonational state. Relentlessly mocks my race, ie. "white tears", "crying white girl."
Racial harassment = not ok.
Weeks and months to emotionally process an event that you are in no way forced to attend? How does a two hour talk and Q&A session by a speaker with professional/academic expertise in a subject area damage ENTIRE communities of people? What exactly is hurting you?
Day 3 of the classical liberal/libertarian seminar: I am compared to Hitler for my (civic nationalist) views on borders. Students are defending incest and bestiality in the name of individual liberty and freedom. :(
New statement from
@PresMacLatchy
!
"..the meeting never should have happened at all. No formal complaint, nor informal concern relative to a Laurier policy, was registered about the screening of the video. This was confirmed in the fact-finding report."
Thank you
@HdxAcademy
for the Outstanding Student Award and the amazing Open Mind conference yesterday. Got to meet so many lovely and inspirational people.

Just received an email from the Dean that the cut-out from the syllabus is NOT the intellectual property of the instructor, and there is NO breach in copyright or non-academic code of conduct.
Communication Studies faculty keeps making up their own rules! Hilarious!
I was just told that this tweet breaches WLU non-academic code of conduct becuz I took a cut-out of a course syllabus, which apparently constitutes intellectual property. I was told to delete it, and if I don't, I will get a note of breach on my file & Dean will be notified.
Confirmed: WLU is a mental institution.
Anon source: "profs cancel[led] our classes last Friday due to a free speech rally happening on campus & we feared for our own safety, & a lot of faculty members & grad students from the Communication program feel unsafe to come to campus"
Professor
@KristopherWells
says I only got a particular job because I am "a young white female face."
Why are these people's minds so infected? Why can't I be seen as someone who has writing & analytical abilities and a strong work ethic...
It's sad that you believe a woman like me is not capable of doing anything without a man masterminding the whole thing. "Feminism" is in your bio, but you don't practice what you preach.
Just found out my "colloquium" class this week has mysteriously been cancelled (a class where all students and all profs in the department get together over a lecture). I wonder if my mere presence is simply too triggering now. This place is so weird. I need to get out of here!!
I have just launched a website:
It will serve as a database of Canadian news articles and op-eds that superficially exploit identity & diversity. I hope it will help track the prevalence of identity grifting in Canada & help with relevant research.
Investigation has begun and the plot thickens.
There is no documentation of any ‘complaint.’
The concern could’ve been discussed face-to-face with Rambukkana, sure. But with no evidence, how will I ever know what was truly said by the complainant?
Some literature handed out at the panel discussion I was on at
@smuhalifax
today. The bingo is kind of funny, but it is a SEVERE mistake for these activists to associate terms such as "critical thinking", "viewpoint diversity", and "open exchange of ideas" with the alt-right.
It's very strange how all of the other leaders are treating
@MaximeBernier
like he is completely anti-immigration when his policy would be to allow 150,000 immigrants per year (rather than approx. 300,000). Half of Canadians want lower immigration levels...
#Leadersdebate
I can handle all this, but universities need to know that this stuff is unacceptable. Despite ppl urging me since Nov, I didn’t want to sue. I still feel ambivalent about it. But the harassment and discrimination complaint (details are confidential) was the final straw.
It is NOT peaceful or graceful to pull a fire alarm to shut down a speaker's talk
This kind of mindset is absolutely deranged and pathological. People who derive pleasure from censoring others are sick and sad individuals
Yaniv already filed a complaint with New York Fries head office. Manager said his staff doesn't even really know the word "transgender" so they wouldn't have said that, and that working in downtown Vancouver they are accustomed to serving transgender and disabled people
Hi Communist Party of Canada
@compartycanada
, I'm still waiting for you to back up your libellous claims that I am "grifting" (obtaining money through swindle/fraud).
As an official political party, please act more ethically. Seems like you don't even take yourselves seriously.
Rinaldo Walcott, you are making racist and unwarranted assumptions about me, both on The Agenda and followed up in this tweet. You think I wouldn't stand up to a white professor, but I would to a racialized one? What an absolutely unfounded argument.
My little sister, in Grade 5, went to a school presentation today. Presenter talked about how there are more than two genders; there should not be separate sections for girls and boys clothing; & for every $1 a man would get for mowing the lawn, a WOC would get 66 cents
@HaltonDSB
You must know this isn't OK,
@CurtisEnnisHDSB
. Try to think about the greater good rather than your own career advancement. It will pay off in the long run. Get "Kayla Lemieux" out of this school, and out of the teaching profession.
This week, I am in legal discoveries in my case against Wilfrid Laurier University and profs Nathan Rambukkana and Herbert Pimlott (who now goes by Hillary), as well as diversity officer Adria Joel.
Finally, accountability and justice are to come 💪
Let's do this
@Lawsome_
PREDICTION: Now that I've graduated, Profs. Rambukkana and Pimlott (interrogators
#1
and
#2
) will be back to teaching next semester.
(They've been mysteriously gone since Dec 2017. Is it a paid leave? A "safety leave"?
@Laurier
a little transparency here would go a long way)
"For someone with male genitalia to bring forward a 'human rights' claim to being legally entitled to have male genitals handled by an unwilling woman exposes the absurdity – and the real dangers – of progressive ideology."
On CBC Sunday Scrum today, a panelist (
@vmochama
) says that I'm just a crying white girl, and because of my "hard right" views (...?) I'm not the appropriate person to have launched a discussion about freedom of speech. Starts at about 6:10
What happened to the humanities? 5 interesting points:
1. An abandonment of classical education ideals
2. Infiltration by the social sciences
3. The cannon has been attacked & the 'great works' dismantled
4. An obsession with the contemporary
5. Infiltration of postmodernism
We have enough to pay Laurier's security fee! Thank you so much to all who have donated -- we reached the $5,473 needed within 8 hours, and have now surpassed the goal. All additional funds will go towards our next events.
Sigh. Yes, some ppl have debilitating mental illness & it's great that this is becoming de-stigmatized. Simultaneously, though, normal stress levels among uni students are being pathologized. E.g. those who get anxious before an exam become convinced they have an anxiety disorder
A trans person accuses me of violating "the spirit of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms” (!!!) because of the
@tvo
clip I played in class.
These people claim to have been silenced, but they have so much power that they have completely twisted this issue to be all about them.
Rinaldo Walcott is back at it. There is so much in this single tweet of his that I find really sad. The condescension...the huge stretches in logic...the mocking tone...
It's a curious rhetorical strategy. Someone should do a master's thesis deconstructing far-left rhetoric.
This kind of thinking is exactly the problem. You fit right in with the trio that held my kangaroo court. Universities are places where we are free to talk about current societal topics and debates. Why do ppl think they have the moral righteousness to decide a uni's agenda...
Stop thinking Peterson is just offering another view that ought to be heard. It is wrong. We try whenever possible to avoid that kind of thing at university.
Thanks
@kira__williams
, PhD, for featuring me in a recent academic presentation you did! Could you clarify a few things though?
1. What were the "hateful remarks" Jordan Peterson made on TVO that I played in my class?
2. How did I "continue to agitate" trans students on campus?
WLU Faculty Assoc. press release. They condemn the "violent speech and actions that have...become a daily occurrence on our campuses."
Daily violent actions? What are they talking about? Nothing is filed with police. They make a mockery of serious crimes.
- Communication TAs recruiting their first-year students to attend a counter-demonstration
- Communication graduate student leading the counter-demonstration
- Communication instructor caught ripping down our posters
It's so fun working in a faculty that is actually a cult
So, the topic of his lecture had not even been determined yet, but the local trans activists immediately claim Peterson's presence at the Citadel Theatre is going to embolden people to "hurt" others. 🤨
What do you even find objectionable about what I said in this particular clip you chose?
Seems like you're just trying to do a guilt by association thing, and your only problem is with who the host has associated with. It's also not "a white supremacist podcast."
Lindsay Shepherd appeared on a white supremacist podcast to express concern that white people could face discrimination when they become a minority. The host (who is friends with David Duke and Richard Spencer) then endorsed white genocide theory.
This person is accusing me of "doxxing" a public education initiative.
But then it's totally okay for her post the location of where one of my parents works in her next tweet.
So twisted
"I don't think insulting Muslims comes under free speech, that's an abuse of freedom of speech."
well.....insulting people is not nice, but that's not how it works
i'm also a NZ citizen. find this quite surprising actually.
In my M.A.-level class on Media and Science a girl said the hashtag "
#beinconvenient
", being used to market the documentary The Inconvenient Truth 2, was hard to spell and therefore an accessibility & disability issue. That was the highlight of my graduate education
Agh. A social justice-oriented prof (who discussed the Laurier case on
@theagenda
) hopes that as a result of my case, profs are better trained to "limit" what TAs are able to do and give TAs better "training" (i.e. training to push authoritarian leftist agenda)
@Patrick_M_Huang
@matthewasears
@EmmMacfarlane
@tjsmerritt
One (overly?) optimistic hope is that due to the LS case we get better at providing t.a.s with better training and structure (and better train profs to supervise/limit/support t.a. work). But not clear to me why Canadian context requires distinct analysis once 1A bracketed?
Some listeners of the left-wing
@Zer0books
podcast take issue with the fact I was even invited on, as I am simply too alt-right. Interestingly I am a big fan of Zero Books as a publisher and am about to order a third book from them.
Closed-minded people are so dreadful.
Umm, pregnant women, like myself, who are also interested in social phenomena, such as white women having less children? Lol! Not that crazy of a notion!
@Laurier
@jordanbpeterson
But this provides a hint. Even though it is Rambukkana and Pimlott who compared Peterson to Hitler, called him an alt-right adjacent figure who doxxes his own students, etc., apparently I am "solely" attributable for the damages
The Laurier Society for Open Inquiry is pleased to announce the first speaker in our new Unpopular Opinions Speaker Series:
@FaithGoldy
. Tuesday March 20!
Feeling like you've accomplished a lot in a day
Before having a kid: finished a project, exercised, cleaned house, ran errands, read a couple chapters of a book
After having a kid: answered one email
I love getting DMs about Wilfrid Laurier University professors who spend their class time talking shit about me. Thx for helping me with my lawsuit.
P.S. Pimlott is white. How does one use white privilege to sue another white person?
