I was ten years old when the captain of the rainbow warrior called and said ‘the fuckers have blown up my ship, the fuckers have blown up my ship. I said ‘I’ll get Dad’. That is one of my clearest memories. Dad was meant to be on board that night but wasn’t well so stayed home.

@chrisluxonmp Hi Christopher, the company I founded and am managing director of has invested $50million in NZ in the last five years. I am appalled by your cuts in health/education and the war on nature. Next month my friends and i will make a major stand against your fast track legislation.

Overseas gold miners have applied today to mine our conservation land in Coromandel. As New Zealanders this is the moment we have to decide if we are paying lip service to the environment or we really care and make a stand. I will do all I can to protect what is ours not miners.

Wow 55,000 people said no to the fast track bill by writing a submission on very short notice. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, the government is on the wrong side of this one. Wind it back now. New Zealanders don’t want this and you can back down now or later.

It's actually much more - the 27,000 doesn't include people who submitted via a form. 13,500 people submitted via the @Forest_and_Bird website, and 15,000 submitted via @GreenpeaceNZ . So that's at least 55K people submitting on the fast-track bill.

This is a painting by Karl Maughan of the view from my parents house in Coromandel. On Monday we go to the High Court in Hamilton to try to stop foreign miners. All are welcome from 9.30. It would be terrible if all we left the next generation was photos and paintings of Coro.

Hector’s dolphin is a nationally vulnerable species: that’s why conditions are placed on activities in Lyttelton Harbour. As Conservation Minister I ensured protection for the species there in 1988; without that it would be even more at risk. @docgovtnz

This was when the Rolling Stones toured NZ on the A Bigger Bang tour in 2006. I was lucky enough to be the record company person on the whole tour. This is back stage at Western Springs. RIP Charlie.

Yesterday was a v good day. After a week of the doctors thinking dad might have a tumour on his brain, he doesn’t. He needs heart surgery but it seems like his brain is all good and he’ll be discharged next week. A far better prognosis. It’s been a rollercoaster of emotions.

We have the rare Golden Pohutakawa in our garden and it looks like 2020 might give us some lovely flowers at least. Here are the first of them.

@nickofnz We are actually doing a court case tomorrow to try and stop mining on Conservation land in Hauraki. We are taking the council and mining company to the high court. All welcome:

Damn! After a week of tonsillitis i got covid this morning. I feel ok at the moment but am absolutely gutted that I’ll miss my @roadyforroadies charity walk this Friday, April 29th. Please everyone get out there and support a great cause. X

I wouldn’t say we are unpacked but we have moved our stuff in to the new office. It’s an awesome space and we will only make it better.

The whole Golden Pohutakawa seems in flower now. This could be a classic example of peaking early.

@RFStew My big problem with this story was it was the lead story....when we have a state of emergency across the South Island. Just stupid

What a great week filled with big bush walks, amazing musical history and a great plan to bring them together to ensure that we make the loudest noise to ensure the government backs down from its fast track to environmental distruction.

Doing a cleanup in Coro in Dads old office. I found a few interesting things including this beauty for music month that I gave to him….1995 Bailter Space glow in the dark frisbee. Doubt it still glows.
