Look, I get you have an opinion, albeit one that is not supported by the facts. And I get that there is a right wing narrative that is being peddled. But the complete lack of shame in publishing stuff that is not only wrong but dangerously wrong is pretty disturbing.
I am 46 and I have never carried a flag adorned with Nazi symbolism.
So, when
@JustinTrudeau
said there were a small group of people with extremist views who didn’t represent Canadians, I agreed because I don’t want them to think they represent me either.
Invoking the Emergency Measures act by Justin Trudeau was a blatant attack on the citizens of Canada. Such a callous and deliberate act by Trudeau should never happen again! Criminal!
OMG - over and over again "people are tired of measures; people are unhappy; people want to be heard." People, there's a pandemic. You don't like it, we don't like it, no one wanted this, grow the fuck up.
The cancellation of KXL is a Kenney-made problem for Alberta. TC wasn’t throwing money into it in an election year (the actual speed of business). Kenney put Alberta another $1.5B in debt for a make work project to make himself look good. He failed.

This person is so ridiculous.
Do child athletes skip education in our country? Can we maybe ensure that’s not happening to the future generation of athletes representing our nation?
Thanks.
Both the NDP and UCP governed during revenue deficiencies.
The NDP didn’t cut education and disability funding. The UCP cut that and more in favour of corporate marketing.
The NDP proved they will protect services Albertans care about.

Excellent summary by Coyne — the conservative premiers are peddling nonsense to people who want all the privilege and none of the responsibilities.
The future looks so freaking grim.
The reviews of the Premiers’ committee appearances are in:
“parade of nonsense”
“completely dishonest about the cost”
“ignoring rebates”
“fantasy” alternatives and the kicker, “bankrupt positions.”

Wind and solar also only account for 14% of Alberta’s power generation (shout out to the UCP for that moratorium!) — if you’re blaming 14% of generation for 100% of the problem, there’s definitely another issue.
Today Danielle Smith blamed the rolling blackouts on the failure of wind and solar to show up…
But…
The alert was issued at 06:49.
Sunrise in most of Alberta?
After 6:55.
So Dani was upset that the sunrise happened…

I know lots of people think Lich is being prosecuted for her politics. Some have even said enforcement is subjecting her to “treatment that is far outside the norm of how our courts and police behave.”
It’s not, they just didn’t care about how activists were treated before.
I think Kenney was going for strength with a fist on the lectern while he made the case for maintaining leader but he didn’t slam it down so he looked like he was giving the universal sign for jacking off.
Excellent way to end.
I’m suddenly in awe at the freedom we had as teenagers to access expert advice on a national platform that didn’t require parental consent. How did our generation, that knew so much freedom, become the gatekeepers for the next?
Sue Johanson, who taught sex education to several generations of Canadians, has died at age 93.
Her Sunday Night Sex Show was legendary and she will be missed.
Your parental rights end where mine begin.
Public schools serve the public - they do not exist to enforce or reinforce beliefs and values some parents choose to teach their children at home.
Who better than parents to know what’s best for their children?
We’re the only party fighting for parental rights in schools.

Danielle Smith during the 2022 UCP leadership race: this is not a public conversation — it’s between the person and their loved ones.
Danielle Smith today: the government will decide.
THIS.
“When the Government of Alberta states that it wants to align research funding with provincial priorities, it risks colouring research coming from Alberta post-secondary institutions as propaganda.”
via
@edmontonjournal
My math isn’t the greatest, but unless Alberta’s population doubled and the UCP forgot to brag about it, there’s no way “almost 2 million more Albertans have full-time jobs today than at any point in our province’s history”.
Statistical impossibility.
Danielle Smith is going to take the pensions. There's no logical way to cut spending, hold on low tax, and get $250 billion to $400 billion into the Heritage Trust fund.
I’ll take the word of a Harvard grad over this guy any day — just remember, he isn’t just jealous of the Ivy League; he’s jealous of everyone who bothered to educate themselves beyond his mother’s expertise.
I’m so done hearing who is going to “fight Ottawa” harder.
Who is going to run our province better in October?
We need a Premier who is focused on Alberta — not obsessed with Trudeau.
What some people understand is that Jason Kenney had nothing to do with the rebound in oil prices, just like Notley had nothing to do with their fall (or Prentice, being that it started in 2014).
Kenney has no legacy here.
Lying about the intent is what’s most alarming.
Advanced Ed Minister Sawhney said the govt needs Bill 18 because “Albertans have a right to know exactly what these grants are and what they are funding”.
Yet, that’s public already. So, what’s the actual intent?
🧵With the introduction of Bill 18 and the Alberta Premier's comments on federal funding being unfairly distributed to liberal disciplines, my research partner and I pulled the Social Science and Humanities Research Council funding data from the past 10 years.
“Without image overhaul to attract wider appeal, Poilievre will be seen by voters as Pee Wee Herman’s angry twin selling himself to unimpressed Canadians as the hard-right hope to fix a country that is both broke and broken.”
Snort.
Can you imagine how outraged Alberta would have been if Trudeau would have offered rejected Liberal candidates paid roles to advise him on provincial matters… over their elected officials?
Trudeau did this when Liberals were shut out of Alberta in 2019. But he used elected officials rather than choosing people the electorate already rejected.
Omg. Kenney says it’s public health recommendation can only provide guidance. By design, Premier.
You literally could make enforceable laws and refuse to.
Don’t blame the idiots - they’re actual idiots who’ve proven they need supervision.
So tired of Kenney’s blame game.

Smith says she had nothing to do with Hinshaw’s un-hiring.
“These are decisions that are made internally…”
Now we need to ask what she means by “decisions” and “internally” — just in case we’re talking about totally different things.
I believe this is the fastest Kenney’s responded appropriately to an MLA scandal since he’s been premier - just under 8 hours. No excuses, no complaints, no blame for the feds… the calls must have come in fast and furious for such a decisive decision.
I have spoken with Minister Madu about the March 10 incident reported in the media today.

I don’t understand where “God-given freedoms” even comes from. God offered no freedoms — only privileges for obedience. Very “society of humans” of him, at that.
