The devil whispered to all the 2020 teachers, โyour not strong enough to withstand this storm.โ And the teacher simply whispered back, โyouโreโ.
Even in tier 58, schools will still be open, but donโt worry, teachers are immune and the last on the list to get the vaccine ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐
Someone who knows that Iโm a teacher asked me today if Iโm enjoying my long vacation...๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ No words.
One of my best friends is a secondary teacher. Sheโs just text me to tell me she has an
@Ofstednews
inspection today. On the second week of term... during a global pandemic... after 6 months off. Do they learn nothing? So much for โwell-beingโ. What a farce.
Why is nobody talking about the fact that hospitality isnโt causing the spread? Numbers stayed down throughout summer. The spike started in September - when schools went back. Itโs blatantly obvious - why are people not talking about this?
We in year 2 are so proud of our artwork inspired by a page from โHere We Areโ by
@OliverJeffers
. We used both paint pouring and ink marbling techniques to create galaxies. We hope you love it as much as we did creating it!

Itโs easy to teacher bash from the comfort of working from home with no exposure. Every teacher will be waking up this morning, most likely exhausted from lack of sleep. For many of us it is not IF we will catch covid, but WHEN. Who knows what this term will bring. Good luck all
Brutally honest tweet: I hate moving classrooms - so much holiday time gets eaten up. Iโve never kept a classroom for more than a year since I qualified.
@jowilliams293
We ARE still in school, and we ARE still teaching? How do you think we will social distance with nursery/EYFS/KS1 children? Most schools are over subscribed as it is and small classrooms. Trust me, we would LOVE for things to go back to normal. What a silly headline...
Switching off Twitter as Iโm now getting hate mail & threats for a tweet that wasnโt intended to SLT bash. It was to raise a discussion, based on something I heard on the radio in non-edu settings. We ALL make mistakes, not just SLT. Letโs be explicitly clear. I โค๏ธ my SLT. Night
Ever have those days where you feel inadequate as a teacher and that youโre not good enough? Today was one of those days. Feeling really down hearted.
Some edutweeters out there could really benefit from a circle time around kindness & respect. Ask yourself why you joined if you have nothing nice/interesting/helpful to share. Itโs honestly embarrassing.
Whatโs the worst thing that a โleaderโ has ever said to you? I once got pulled in 2 days after my grandmother dropped dead suddenly (I had one day off to go down there & support my mum). I was told โwe need to build your resilienceโ. 1/2
Delighted to share that my role is evolving to Trust Assistant Headteacher! Absolutely loving this journey of growth & learning. Excited to support our incredible team & pupils in even more meaningful ways. Thankful for my SLT team & their unwavering support! Cheers to summer! ๐ฅ
We have been creating some gorgeous artwork in year 2 around โHere We Areโ by Oliver Jeffers. We canโt wait for you to see the finished product!
@KnockhallPrima1
Sounds really stupid and ungrateful with everything that is going on in the world right now, but Iโm really upset and struggling with the fact that I will be sat at home alone on my 30th birthday this time next week. At least I have my health.
I used to think that coffee was a grown-up drink. Then I thought alcohol was a grown-up drink. I have now achieved full enlightenment to understand that water is the grown-up drink.
Got an update on the man I helped yesterday after the elephant attack. He had a surgery yesterday as had broken wrist in two places, and is having another one today on his spine as thereโs a few lower vertebrae that need fixing, but he is ok and will make a FULL recovery! ๐๐ป
Hands up ๐โโ๏ธ if you have ever been on the receiving end of an unsoliticed grope? How many women have had their bums pinched by total strangers in a bar?
How many of us have had something more sinister happen? How many of us have gone through this more than once?

So they want us to wear face masks on
@TfL
but they donโt deem teachers important enough to wear them, despite being exposed daily to 15+ people in one room & when looking after key worker children whose parents work on covid wards? Whereโs the logic?
@educationgovuk
My boyfriends brother is having an intensive 16 hour surgery tomorrow to remove a brain tumour following a stroke (heโs only in his early 30โs). Please keep him in your prayers. โค๏ธ
I wonder what would happen, if you got all edutweeters in one room, including those behind aliases. Who would act the way they do on twitter? Who would speak out & who would cower?
Donโt worry about what you got in your A-Levels, I got a D,E & dropped 2. Now I have a 2 bachelors degrees, completing my masters degree, soon to be PhD! Iโve travelled the world, represented my country AND own a business, all before 30. Success is a mindset, not a bit of paper!
Shaved off over 20 minutes just on a 5k run in the past week. Starting to feel better and get back in the rhythm of running. My PB is 24, so aiming to be sub 28 in 3 weeks time. So glad I can run again, ankle recovery was brutal!
My ๐ฅ and passion for teaching is back in full flow. There was a time it was dimmed & I felt a bit lost & down. But I can honestly say: IโM BACK. The comeback is always stronger than the set back.
Every time I check my feed, there is some sort of huge edu-twitter drama/argument. Do people have nothing better to do? Itโs the summer holidays. Go outside! Have fun! Enjoy life! Lifeโs too short & tomorrow isnโt promised.
I never in a million years thought that I would have to do serious first aid after an elephant attack on a human whilst out on safari. We found the man laying in the road. He is stable, but was kicked and rolled by an elephant. Just another thing teaching has helped me to do.
Been v quiet on here, have been experiencing deep exhaustion & burn out. Slept lots. Still not 100% but managed to get out and stock up on feel good, natural foods & remedies. Hoping they kick in soon, eyes look like Iโve been punched multiple times. Take care out there all.

This! I print a grid every week. Makes me feel a lot calmer and helps me prioritise. Another one Iโve learnt recently is the kanban - speak to

You donโt sound bitter whatsoever... I would imagine they have worked incredibly hard and earned their positions through years of hard work.
We have tripped, we have stumbled, we have crawled... but we have made it to the end of term/2020 in the toughest teaching conditions we will ever encounter. Well done everyone! Have a lovely rest. You deserve this! YOU make a difference.

1/2 What triggers me the most is seeing ignorant comments on news articles about teachers... saying we are getting more โtime offโ. Iโll be working as normal looking after key worker children & vulnerable children, whilst setting tasks online and completing tasks as normal.
โโMiss, what is fish fingers? Do they cut the fingers off the fish?โโ ๐๐๐ I was howling and the whole class erupted during registration today ๐๐๐
I have been at my new school for 14 days. Day 12 we got the

call. I have loved the past couple of weeks. Seeing everyone uplift, praise, support & cheer on one another these past 2 days, makes me certain this is where I belong. Iโm home!
@KnockhallPrima1
@WATEducation
Seeing so many tweets from NQTโs about feeling overwhelmed and downcast. This is the hardest start that any teacher, even those with 20+ years experience has EVER had to encounter. Youโre doing a great job. It will get easier.
Teachers! Whatโs in your โsurvival kitโ? Mine is Zoflora, lemon and ginger tea, emergency chocolate, painkillers, tissues, antibacterial wipes and a scented spray ๐
@Peterkillingto1
@ArsenalHomerton
I was there that day. Nobody marched because it wasn't race-motivated police brutality... it was extreme ideology terrorism... I think you are missing the point entirely.
Whatโs the worst thing that a โleaderโ has ever said to you? I once got pulled in 2 days after my grandmother dropped dead suddenly (I had one day off to go down there & support my mum). I was told โwe need to build your resilienceโ. 1/2
Friends. Look after yourselves. Kept telling myself all last week โitโs just a coldโ & โIโm just tiredโ. Turns out I have a nasty kidney & throat infection which has brought me to my knees & have spent 5 days half dead in bed. As teachers we prioritise everyone but ourselves.
@MrAllington
I tripped and fell over a child into the water tray when teaching EYFS, the whole thing collapsed, soaked me (I was wearing a white top), flooded the room, then a child laughed so much he vomited and we had to evacuate. Luckily not in an observation. Lol
