Local elections are not just about bins. I lead a day centre for people who are homeless or living with mental health conditions in Hammersmith & Fulham, a Labour council. When I told them I couldn’t afford the rent, they gave the charity the freehold. They part fund our services

The day centre I run for people experiencing homelessness costs a little under half a million per year. 600 guests supported, 12k visits. The government gave Rwanda £140 Million, in advance, for nothing, because their plans were illegal. That could have paid for 280 day centres
