Our hospital now mandating providers use N95/respirator for all endoscopies (colon/egd/etc) & any aerosolizing procedures. Extended use/reuse if not soiled. Consider shield over mask to minimize soiling. Remove gloves, then mask, then wash hands. Keep in bag. How long good for??

Sobering NYT piece. Over half the world's N95s & masks are manufactured in China. In addition to not exporting, they imported over 76 million in January. Hard to blame them - but we must learn from this & diversify the supply chain for medical supplies.

Diogo Moura @FESConference #FES19 with excellent talk on bleeding after bariatric surgery. Most anticoagulants are absorbed in the duodenum. Far less consistent in gastric bypass patients - best to use a medication that you can check levels on.
