Alright, I’ve seen some stuff where people are saying writers shouldn’t write MCs that aren’t their gender, race, religion etc. And I’m here to say that’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. Writers can write any character we want from any perspective we want. #writing

@GageWrites I think anyone should be free to write any story from any perspective. White write black, gay write straight, etc etc. it requires more work to accurately capture how different walks of life would experience the events of the story, but we shouldn’t limit ourselves. Write on!

@AuthorGFAllen I think it’s a bit of both. We should of course be respectful of people but there is also an “earned” aspect from interactions with people, and likewise a “lost” aspect. Basically we start at 0 (which should be common courtesy) and can go up or down from there
