Veteran, husband, and a father. Democratic Candidate for Indiana House District 39 (Carmel/Westfield). Airline Pilot, Citadel graduate, and proud union member.
(1/3) Hamilton County Moms for Liberty, designated a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center, chose to use a quote from Adolf Hitler in the most recent addition of their organizational newsletter.
Let me be very clear:
No group that quotes Nazis should be anywhere near our children or have any influence in our community. It is time for our community leaders to stop acquiescing to them and make clear that their hateful rhetoric will not be tolerated. (3/3
This is an act that lays bare the threat they are to our community.
They have no business influencing our school boards, our legislation, or our student curriculum. They stand in opposition to everything that I believe and against the very freedom I fought to preserve. (2/3)
Twenty years of single party rule, in Indiana, has given us the highest rate of veteran suicide in the Midwest, the lowest paid teachers in all of the surrounding states, including Ohio and Kentucky, and one of the highest rates of infant mortality in the country.
Like I said yesterday, I will not remain silent on this issue: any organization electing to use the words of Hitler has no business influencing our school boards, our legislation, or our student curriculum. But I need you to help and stand with me.
20 years of single party, super majority rule in Indiana means you spend more money to go to work to make less money than most Americans. Hoosiers deserve better.
Indiana has the fifth highest gas tax in the country, a 6 billion dollar budget surplus, yet we rank 47th for maternal mortality, 50th in clean water, 42nd in teacher pay (and a 3000 teacher shortage) fiscal responsibility means you fix your leaky roof, and we have a leaky roof.
This strong financial reporting reassures Hoosiers that their tax dollars are appropriately managed and helps Indiana maintain its AAA credit rating by all three rating agencies — one of just 13 states to do so — which means lower costs for borrowing.
If passed, students would no longer need to take economics, world history and geography. Requirements would also be wiped out for fine arts, foreign language and career and technical education.
We have the highest veteran suicide rate in the Midwest, the lowest teacher pay of all the surrounding states, and one of the highest infant mortality rates in the country. Hoosiers deserve better than what they’ve gotten the last 20 years of single party rule.
Holcomb: “Ladies and Gentlemen, I don’t need to tell you, but I’m proud to, the state of our state is strong. And the rest of the world has taken notice, and they want in on it.”
I just retired from the military after serving my country for 22 years. Including flying missions over Iraq and a one year deployment to Afghanistan.
You do not get to tell me what a Patriot is.
Last year, the Indiana State Police denied 6,000 concealed carry permits.
Today, they can all carry concealed.
The

GOP has made our streets less safe with their extremist policies.

The VOTERS of Kansas were heard.
But in Indiana, we have a supermajority not listening to the people they represent. Not the doctors, not the women who have suffered through trauma.
They’re only listening to the minority extremist voices.
But they will hear us Nov 8th
This morning, I filed my paperwork to run for state representative.
It is time we prioritized what matters to Hoosiers: good jobs, healthy families, good education, and a great future for our children. I'm proud to continue to serve, and I’m ready to start working together.
This week, I met with yet another Republican who said they’d be voting for me in November and wants to help my campaign.
Another Republican, tired of the extremism, who is ready to help us move Indiana forward, together.
I’d like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of
@RileyChildrens
for taking such good care of my son. After 11 days in the hospital he is finally home and doing great! Thanks everyone for all the well wishes.
If companies can’t attract employees, they won’t move here.
This is why we need strong, safe and inclusive public schools, clean water, and healthcare that is accessible and affordable.
Basically all the things the Supermajority has voted against.
Time to move Indiana forward
The Indiana GOP is facing a teacher crisis that THEY created.
They gutted the collective bargaining rights of teachers, got involved in curriculum, and syphoned tax payer money away from public schools and into for-profit school corporations.
Their solution?….see thread…
I want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone. To my staff, my volunteers, to the people who voted for me, to my fellow candidates, and to my family: You all pushed me every day to be better-to be a better candidate, and a better person, and we left it all in the field. (1/4)
Indiana is 1 of 24 states that does not allow ballot referendums. It is time for the majority voices to be heard.
Instead, our supermajority caters to the minority extremists in their party and ignores the will of the people they represent.
I visited the statehouse today to support our Hoosier LGBTQ community. Legislators should be focusing on lowering healthcare costs, reducing property taxes, and bettering our public schools …instead of infringing on Hoosier's individual liberties.
I just retired from the military, and my opponent was elected the year I graduated high school.
Think about that

Governor Holcomb just signed SB-1 into law.
The pathway to end the supermajority goes through Carmel, and District 39.
Fight with me, knock on doors with me, make phone calls with me. I will not stop fighting for you.

Our state legislature passes laws that discriminate against people for who they are and who they love. Our school board candidates run on platforms to eliminate books with gay characters and pride symbols in classrooms. The “parents rights” groups call our teachers groomers.
This election matters for all Hoosiers!
We need representatives who will listen to their voters, not special interest groups.

Today was a heavy, heartfelt day.
To those women who shared their personal, private testimony at the Indiana statehouse today-thank you so much for your bravery.
I’m so proud of you all.
Is there any greater example of

than this? I was canvassing and this amazing retired couple offered me some tomatoes from their garden.

As a veteran and a gun owner, I support safe storage legislation. I appreciate
@RepMitchGore
efforts and
@MomsDemand
efforts to make safe storage an important part of responsible gun ownership in Indiana.
Just run. Put your name in the hat. I had no name recognition, no money, no political connections, and I entered the race late in July in a gerrymandered district. I worked hard, knocked on a lot of doors, knocked on some more, and came within 1300 votes. Just run.
Indiana has the most polluted rivers, lakes, and streams of any state. Our hunters, fishers, and children deserve better. On World Nature Conservation Day, I'm committing to Hoosiers that I will protect and preserve the Hoosier National Forest and our wetlands.
I am proud to stand with our public school teachers today, and in the statehouse. Our great teachers are the backbone of our great schools and our great communities, and I'm proud to support them.
I’m disappointed to learn of the State Supreme Court’s ruling - for over 50 years women in this country had the rights to privacy & medical freedom. Last year our state legislature took those rights away, despite overwhelming opposition from Hoosiers of all political parties.
Indiana teachers are paid less than all of the surrounding states.
On average, our teachers also spend 500$ of their own money on school supplies. Just like parents shouldn’t have textbook fees, our teachers shouldn’t have to pay for school supplies.
I just finished up calls with two different friends-one from the military and one from college. Both said I’m the first Democrat they’ve ever donated to.
It’s time to move forward.

I want to thank everyone who came out to vote for me, all of our volunteers and supporters. Most importantly, I want to thank my family, they have been with me every step of the way. On to November!
Indiana’s gender wage gap is among the worst in the nation, with women only making 72 cents for every dollar a man earns. On this Equal Pay Day, I am committing to closing the gender pay gap in Indiana.
I come from a family of veterans, and I know firsthand the sacrifices that our service members and their families make.
Giving back to my community is important to me, and I'm running for office because I want to continue my service for all of the residents in our district.
Indiana teachers are paid less than all surrounding states. We had a 3000 teacher shortage this year, but the supermajority’s answer was to reduce qualifications instead of raising pay. Our kids deserve better.
Proud to support my friend
@lowryforindiana
at his volunteer kickoff in Westfield this morning. Josh is a foster parent who loves our community. He is running for Indiana’s House District 24.
We had such an incredible turnout at today’s Eyes on Education event! A big thanks to our speakers, AG Candidate Destiny Wells, State Sen J.D. Ford, and State Rep. Tonya Pfaff, and to our generous hosts and sponsors. Hoosiers are ready for leaders who will put our students first!
Our campaign is working hard, every day for the Hoosiers of

in Carmel and Westfield. So grateful for our volunteers who are braving the rain today to help us bring balance back to the Indiana statehouse!
After filing my paperwork for state representative, I got right to work-meeting voters at the door.
I look forward to working for you, listening to you, and representing you.
Their solution is to lower the standards-by removing licensing requirements and adding adjunct teachers.
We need to increase teacher pay, increase funding, and restore the collective bargaining rights of our public school teachers.
We need leaders who will listen.
We have knocked on over 10,000 doors in Carmel and Westfield. I’m so proud to have such an amazing grassroots team of volunteers. We are the hardest-working campaign team in Indiana, and I’m ready to work even harder for you at the Statehouse!

Proud to support these fellow veterans
@TheDestinyWells

running for election in 2024. Tonight, Army combat veteran Robert Pope launched his campaign for State Rep in Indiana’s House District 40!
Just what do you think happens when we allow this hateful rhetoric to spew from people who claim to be community leaders? The answer is violence against those very communities they speak out against.
For all you “blue dots” out there, time to become a wave:
Next Thursday, at 5pm, is my official campaign launch!
Please join us at Muldoon’s in downtown Carmel!
Today at the statehouse, I gave public testimony in support of Indiana’s HB 1034 which would end state income tax for Active Duty Military, catching us up with Illinois, Michigan, and Kentucky.
After today’s bill, which stripped away the rights of

Happy military spouse's day. I want to thank my wife Brooke, who has been with me my entire military career, through all of the deployments to my retirement, she has been my rock. Thank you to Brooke, and to all of the military spouses for your resilience, strength, and support.
After two decades of supermajority rule, I believe decision-makers at our state capitol have embraced extreme policies that are out of step with our Carmel and Westfield communities. And that's why I have decided to run for House District 39 again in 2024.

I am a 22-year-old who officially kicked off my campaign for Indianapolis City-County Council last week.
I’m 2,500 followers away from hitting 20K. Will you RT this to help out?

It’s official, folks, we are going to be on the ballot. I’m looking forward to fighting for the rights and well-being of everyday Hoosiers. It’s time to put an end to one-party rule and hold the government accountable to work for all of us.
The excitement is building for our campaign as we approach November!
I’m so grateful for the incredible support, energy, and enthusiasm of our amazing volunteers. This is a grassroots, shoe leather campaign, and we could not do it without the amazing support of our community.

I am proud to be the only candidate in the 39th District running on women's rights, keeping our public schools strong & fully funded, passing gun safety laws supported by experts, & preserving our Hoosier natural resources. I hope I've earned your vote Nov. 8th.

I was grateful to spend some time with my dad at tonight’s VFW Post 10003 meeting in Carmel. He has been serving the veteran community in Carmel and Westfield for a long time. Proud to be his son and carrying the torch!
It’s 2022, we need leaders who will take us to the 21st century. Instead, we have career politicians elected in the 1900s who are moving us backwards. I say it’s time to Move Indiana Forward. Early voting begins today, and there’s only one clear choice:
And while I’m disappointed in the outcome, I’m SO proud of and grateful for EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU who joined the fight with me. And we are not done fighting!
Thank you so much for all your work and effort.

It was my privilege to speak at Carmel’s

event tonight. I spoke about the importance of safe storage in reducing suicide and unattended firearm deaths. Indiana ranks 3rd in the nation for children killed by unattended firearms, behind only Texas and Florida.
Hoosiers!
VOTE THEM OUT!
A child rape victim should never be forced to carry the fetus of their rapist!
I don’t care if it is 6 weeks after the rape, 12 weeks or 15 weeks. NEVER.
Grateful for the volunteers who marched with me today at Indy Pride, and thank you to
@SenatorJDFord
for inviting us. We will continue to work to protect the dignity of all Hoosiers.

Because of the supermajority, we are at a point in Indiana where Republicans aren’t negotiating with Democrats.
We are at a place where one extreme group of Republicans is negotiating with an even more extreme group of Republicans.
It’s time to end the supermajority.

We had 14 stops across Indiana all focus on delivering on a simple promise: creating a better economic future for women and families - including restoring the freedom to choose.
My son grew up a “Navy Brat”. He was born in Germany when I was stationed there. He moved 5 times before the age of 10, and attended 3 different elementary schools. Today he came home from college to vote in his first general election, and I couldn’t be more proud.
Our Indiana state republicans have voted against every bill that raises your wages-and they refuse to suspend the gas tax.
This means you make less and are paying more than you should.
We need to suspend the gas tax, and fight legislation that keeps our wages low.
