Coaches, your kickers & punters are like pitchers - they need to be on a pitch count! Asking a kid to hit 20 kickoffs or 50 punts is like asking a pitcher to throw 200 pitches. Their leg is fried after that! Protect your guys from over hitting and it will pay off in the games

The new NFL kickoff rule just extended the career of every older FG kicker in the league, and it also devalued every single punter/kickoff guy in future drafts. The easiest path the league used to be P/KO, but now hangtime on kickoff doesn’t matter at all. Mind blown 🤯

Sometimes missed kicks are because the holder missed the spot, or the timing with the snapper is off. But the kicker is always the one to take the blame. Head coaches, QB’s and K’s- all the credit when you succeed, all the blame when you don’t. Just part of the job!

Kickers- As camp approaches, make sure that you develop a great relationship with your holder and your back up holder. Those guys are essential to your success and you need to make sure they will put in extra time with you to get the ball on the spot! Love them up!

Remember that your rest days shouldn't be just you sitting around - active rest leads to recovery. Roll out, ice baths, stretching and hydration lead to better performance. #SpecOpsST

Many people can’t afford private coaches, and unfortunately, being a specialist is so specialized that it becomes an access issue if you want to kick in college. #SpecOpsST is going to hold a free specialists camp in Oakland in June to try to help! Stay tuned Bay Area!

Our Stanford men did a great job being leaders & following medical advisement this weekend. A reminder about the value of leadership & listening: if those in charge of public health had listened to epidemiologists and gotten us all to buy in, we'd all be at practice right now.

What a trip to @BowdoinFB - proud of my alma mater! Grateful my parents encouraged me to choose the best combination of academics & football. I never would have gotten into Stanford grad school or gotten to coach there if not for my @BowdoinCollege degree!
