For those asking for the full clip
On Saturday gone l went on the BBC to talk West Indies crashing out of the World Cup Qualifiers.
Here is the full segment
Part 1
I have to applaud BLM organisers who saw sense and called off protests.
The trap was set and the media already had pre-headlines written.
Now they have to find a way to explain away violence that has nothing to do with us.
This country is ill.
Let the far right & football nationalist hooligans show themselves up. Share all the videos.
Then wait for the silence from government & all the ppl on here who had energy to speak last week.
This is a time where you will really find out what ppl stand for
Question everything
This reminds me of remain vs brexit. A dystopian White British culture war.
With the rest of us wondering about the systemic racism going unchallenged.
When a person with privilege uses the word 'woke' in a derogatory sense.
They are reacting to the fact that they can no longer be racist/bigoted/discriminatory without getting dragged for it.
Nothing more. Nothing less.
A great way to end the year by doing comms on talkSPORT for the final three T20Is
18 yr old me that wanted to go to uni & study media (did History in the end) feels vindicated now
I always thought I'd be a good fit for sports broadcasting - hopefully this is some kind of start.
This is why when we say
#BlackLivesMatter
we're talking about the UK as well.
Some kind of justice has finally come for the Atkinson family but not without a real fight.
I don't often blame schools for things but one of the reasons the British find it so hard to reckon with racism is a lack of knowledge over British Empire horrors and colonialism.
I'm a history teacher and the national curriculum is largely useless in this regard.
20 years ago Bromley defeated Horsham in the Ryman 1 south playoff final. Now we stand 1 game away from a place in the Football League.
For all the fans that I've travelled with since that day.
Soak it all in today.
Announcement: Today I became a dad to Aurora Grace. Her and Mum are great. I'm eating Jacob's cream crackers basking in the wonder of it all. This has replaced Bromley's promotion to the National league as best day of my life. End transmission.
I've been laughing at this all day.
This is what real unbridled football joy means.
Everyone in this limbs situation I've pretty much known since 14 years old.
Having seen Notts County & Wrexham in quick succession. It is very clear that as good as County are Wrexham can beat you in different ways
County are the better 'footballing' side but Wrexham are the more effective team
Yes Netflix etc but they get the job done
FT Verdict:
Bromley 1-2 Wrexham
On the balance of play Wrexham deserved the win but Bromley gifted them both goals
No way you give a side as good as Wrexham a headstart
Bromley battled back well but didnt have the extra quality when needed
Wrexham are going to win the league
There are political pundits who will tell you this is proper politics..
What this is is a bare faced naked example of what politics actually is in this country - appealing to the richest most spiteful people in the country.
We are told we arent adults if we dont accept this.
Andy Woodman has now been manager of Bromley for 148 National League matches they have only lost 33 of them.
The fact he doesn't really get talked up as one of the best to do it in this league is crazy.
I used to watch Bromley week in week out in the Ryman 1 South battling relegation to the Kent League.
Crowds back then were sub 200.
I've just seen Bromley win the FA Trophy at Wembley in front of 46,000 as a regular top 10 NL side.
Its been a hell of a 26 yr journey ❤
🚨 COMUNICADO OFICIAL 🚨
Delighted to say I will be on Talksport (
@Cricket_TS
) for the duration of the West Indies vs England series.
Analysis, summarizing, ball by ball, podcasts and so much more.
Stay tuned and locked in.
Game 1 starts Sunday

For the record it doesn't matter who the next Labour leader is they'll do the exact same to him/her.
If you think Corbyn is an anomaly think again.
Unless said leader basically abandons labour principles they'll never be treated 'equally' . Britain is in a nationalist haze rn
I've been a teacher since 2004
I can say with full certainty that the following things have got worse in that time.
Workload.
Pay.
Parental behaviour (not pupils)
The top two things combined (more than anything else) have led us to a crisis re: teacher shortage.
I'm taking time today to remember the Windrush elders that rebuilt Britain after WWII
The story is a personal one for me.
My paternal grandfather arrived in 1953
My maternal grandparents arrived in 1960
Both sacrificed and toiled through the maddest racism.
We salute you
Kids are coming into school and greeting me like I was the man who scored the winning penalty at Wembley.
They know the graft I've put in over the last 28 years watching this team home and away and are giving me my flowers.
I guess I now have to remove
@NonLeaguePaper
from my bio for at least one season.
I've written Bromley match reports and articles for the best part of seven seasons and it has been a blast.
Full thanks to all at the paper &
@neil_smudge
&
@AndyWoodman4
for all the interviews.
Asked David Unsworth if I could get a comment for the Non League Paper he said "No".
Respect his decision not to but more fool him as all that makes it look like is he is feeling the pressure.
In my honest opinion just front up, call the performance crap and identify why
The Bromley side that played tonight
Kellen Fisher 18
Deji Elerewe 19
Besart Topalloj 21
Ryan Stirk 22
Jude Arthurs 21
Half the side were youngsters.
Always have to respect it.
Enjoy this bit of the BBC News feature I did on West Indies crashing out of the WC
Will post something cleaner at some point but this is funnier because of my nephew's reactions...
Taking on a new role at school this year.
Amongst a myriad of other stuff I will primarily be Director of 6th form.
People on my TL that have the links, access codes and connections hit me up.
Let's conversate and help the young people prosper together.
Powers 👊🏿
Something I noted about this final today.
Solihull looked absolutely dead on their feet in extra time while Bromley found new life having only used 2 subs all game
People forget this side lost the least number of games in the league.
They simply don't know when they are beaten
Begin my BBC cricket comms journey tomorrow.
1st day of the County Championship
Kent vs Northamptonshire
Have to shout out
@Majorscov
and
@murgersb
who I worked with in the Netherlands last summer. That was the start point really.
My daughter just walked up to a girl at football training and said what kit is that? (It was Dulwich Hamlet)
She then showed said girl her Bromley top and badge and declared "Me and my dad support Bromley"
This is wholesome non-league content. I have trained her well 😃
Can confirm that I will be writing for the
@TheLeaguePaper
in 2024/25.
Looks like Bromley's promotion meant I got a promotion too 😀
Cant wait for the Football League adventure.
See y'all in August.
I've supported this club 27 years.
I've seen us at the very lowest ebb.
Bromley are now 2 games from a possible place in the EFL.
I thought winning the FA Trophy at Wembley last season was the best thing I'd ever see but they could eclipse that this season.
Dare to dream?
I've been at pains all season to tell people that Bromley were the real deal.
Andy Woodman has transformed the football club and its ethos.
And this was the next stage of the evolution.
They play the way you need to play if you are a serious National League football club.
Yesterday there were attendances of 8k at Wrexham vs Dagenham & 6k at Grimsby vs Eastleigh.
Attendances aren't everything but it's mad that you have clubs at NL battling for 2 promotion spots only.
There are clubs in L2 treading water knowing only 2 can go down.
Has to change.
France are ranked 5th
Brazil are ranked 8th
Jamaica are ranked 43rd.
This is the country's greatest sporting achievement in my mind.
Smallest nation at the competition. No goals conceded and through to the last 16 of the
#FIFAWWC
JAMAICA RISE! 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲 HISTORY MI SEH!
Andy Woodman has been in charge of Bromley for 39 league games and we have only tasted defeat 6 times.
His win percentage in the league is 59%
We are really being spoilt - soak it up Bromley fans.
Couldn't be more proud of
@JAMRugbyLeague
today.
They left absolutely everything out there tonight.
Did the nation and people proud with a fully committed display and made history in the process
#RLWC2021
🇯🇲
Well done
@ICC
you created a
#CWC19
format that you marketed as an elite competition and after 4 rounds of games everyone knows the SFinalists. Congratulations you played yourself.
Bromley have officially broken into the mainstream.
Had students coming up to me today offering me commiserations like I had played at Chesterfield and gone through the war.
FT Verdict:
Bromley 4-3 Chesterfield
That game had everything.
If you wanted any understanding why Chesterfield have swept everyone aside in the National League and why Bromley are the best of the rest.
It was ALL on show today.
Three up from the National League please.
When I was a younger. I always wanted to write and commentate on football. That's what my passion was & still is.
Last year I said I'd take some of the media stuff around football more seriously. So was genuinely blessed to do radio comms for BBC yesterday.
We give thanks 🙏🏿
I'm presenting the Supporters Player of the year award at the Bromley players award evening tonight.
This was my audition to be the presenter 🤕
📹
@tonywhilding88
I didnt vote in the Bromley player of the season awards but anyone who wins it is fully deserved
Grant Smith - best GK in the league
Michael Cheek - 26 goals
Corey Whitely - Double-Double
Callum Reynolds - Mr Consistent
Ben Krauhaus - 19yr old 🌟boy
Jude Arthurs - Engine room
This
@bromleyfc
Wembley appearance is part of a greater story. From
@jerrydolke
rescuing the club in 01/02 to Wakeling & Smith getting us out of Ryman 1. Goldberg getting us 2 promotions to the Nat League to
@neil_smudge
pushing us on. This is the culmination to a 16 yr tale ♥️
Gary Rowett & managers across the land have had a summer of Gareth Southgate showing how to lead on this issue with sensitivity.
Yet faced with the inevitable because he manages MIlwall. Rowett effectively said I'm shook to confront it so let me pander to fick instead.
SMH
Those not in the know, Jamaica make their first ever Rugby League World Cup appearance today.
Our opponents will be Ireland (5pm UK time).
We are a nation that forever makes history in sports - this is the latest step.
🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
@JAMRugbyLeague
#RLWC2021
I have to shout out
@MrReiceCook
- quietly been one of the best Bromley players this season.
It's easy to forget that Reice has significant EFL pedigree - it's clear the defence trust him and his energy is critical to the dressing room.
12 clean sheets in 31 👏🏿
For the last 16 months I told myself I no longer cared about football.
Watching games without fans was soul-destroying.
However when Cheek's last gasp equaliser went in today the pandemonium was everything.
The surge, scenes and the limbs. Those moments cannot be beaten
This was the moment I knew Bromley were going up this season.
When Cheek did the dirt at Wealdstone after we played with 10 men for 75+ minutes.
I knew this football team was the real deal.
Racism isn't something you mature out of just cos. You're not suppossed to be racist to begin with.
You mature out of being a **** by actively educating yourself.
People are acting like growing up is enough. If it is why are your parents/grandparents still doing up racism?
Omar Sowunmi ➡️ Sutton (L2)
Kellen Fisher ➡️ Norwich (Champ)
Ali Al-Hamadi ➡️ Wimbledon (L2)
Ellery Balcombe ➡️ Bristol Rovers (L1)
Ethan Coleman ➡️ Gilingham (L2)
Ryan Stirk ➡️ Walsall (L2)
Deji Elerewe ➡️ Charlton (ready for 1st team)
Bromley place to be if you want to kick on
Totally made up for Michael Cheek (
@michaelcheek5
) to get his chance in the Football League.
As ever when the big moment demanded it he did the dirt.
Worth his weight in gold.
I do think it's fair for some to say this is a missed opportunity for 🏴 though.
6 out of 7 games at Wembley. Travelled the least in the tournament & had the easier half of the draw.
This team will and should get stronger but they might not have it 'easier' than this again
In pre-season Andy Woodman said then 18 yr old Ben Krauhaus was like Emil Smith Rowe in playing style.
It raised eyebrows but half a season later, Ben has been ever present in Bromley's side and is almost certain to get a move to the Championship (at least).
Have to respect it
"The government seems complacent"
Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn says he has written a letter to the prime minister asking why advice on coronavirus "is different to that given in almost every other European country"
When I first started watching Bromley (96) they were in the Ryman Prem then got relegated to the sunken place (then Ryman div 1 South in 98). We spent 6 years there stinking up the joint. I post the current NL table up for I may never see things as good as this again 🙏🏿
FT Verdict:
@bromleyfc
2-0
@ChesterfieldFC
Once again Woodman pulls off a masterclass when Bromley have to win the one-off big match.
Read his record and understand the last 3 seasons
2020/21 - playoffs
2021/22 - FA Trophy Winners
2022/23 - playoffs
Have to respect it.
Stop working five days a week (as a teacher) from Jan 1st and not a moment too soon.
This is the next step in the journey.
Those who have wanted me to do some media stuff in the past and I've said I have no availability hopefully that now changes.
Slide into the DMs
This is why I will never understand those fans who complain about Bromley's style of football
It's winning football & it's why they can go away from home & win with 10 men for 3/4 of the match & keep a clean sheet
5 clean sheets in a row. 2nd best defensive record in the league
There are a lot of dead out League Two clubs surviving each year only because the EFL won't allow 3 up 3 down
I have no doubt that all of the four semi finalists today would more than hold their own in League 2
Alas next season we'll have the same farce of only 1 automatic spot
Sam Sharpe led the largest and most successful of the fights to end slavery. Let us pay respects to this great abolitionist. We must never forget.
