In New Mexico, Indigenous Peoples’ Day replaced Columbus Day back in 2019. We believe in celebrating America’s Tribal Nations, not the violence committed against them. It’s time we had a national holiday to honor our Tribes and Pueblos, so I introduced a bill to do just that.

In the Tularosa Basin, those now known as Downwinders were exposed to dangerous levels of radiation, marking them and their descendants w/ tragedy ever since. They developed cancers and other illnesses. Infant mortality spiked. 78 years later, they’ve still not been compensated.

I’m a big fan of induction stoves, as you know. They don’t release toxic fumes inside your home like gas stoves can. This is a propane disc, not a stove. It is outside, not inside, and the tortillas for my elk fajitas were flipped by hand, not tongs. Hope that clears things up.
