Excited to be back on Broadcasting House

Today is

and I will start banging on about it on

at 0750. Also a good day to subscribe to this fabulous podcast. Jeremy Paxman says it’s #%^*ing brilliant
Its not just the fragility of Rishi’s appeal that has been laid bare but the shallow judgment of many tory MPs and some pol corrs. Time and Brexit has stripped out talent & depth and it shows.
“For better, for worse” this week we bring our partners along and it is an extraordinary episode : there are tears and laughter and a degree of frankness that is quite humbling. and their reaction to adversity.
I am genuinely staggered by the mess in Brussels - how can the Government NOT have squared the DUP ? How did they fail to predict DUP reax to "regulatory convergence' ? Someone please explain
I am thrilled to be spending today, World Parkinson's Day, helping unveil the spanking new Parkinson Centre for Integrated Therapy in Canterbury It's clear from all the emails people have sent us that there is a real need for a one stop Parky shop.
I have just pledged my support for the Parky Charter. Add your name and together we can urge the government to make sure people living with Parkinson's have better access to health and care services and financial support
As many families get together for Easter please, please, pretty please, sign the petition and get friends, daughters, sons, aunts and uncles to sign -we AWARD WINNING podcasters will be handing it in to Downing Street on 11th April

We’re so grateful for the lovely reviews for the podcast. A sample:
“At last Parkinson’s has a powerful voice!”
“it makes me feel that we are less alone, so thank you.”
“Keeping the subject of PD open and honest with laughter in the mix helps a great deal”
I wasn't surprised when a (former) colleague told me mail was piling up for me. After all I left the BBC two months ago. I WAS surprised when I found an Xmas card from the PM ... Theresa May. The earliest was from 2016. Good to know BBC post dept has now found my ex desk.
The all singing all dancing centre is now launched !. Ever since I first heard about it I thought the Parkinson Centre for integrative therapy in Canterbury was a good idea. But visiting it in person convinced me it is a brilliant one
I'm surprised this hasn't been picked up more in morning coverage. Even if an off the cuff jest, a real indication of his instinctive reaction to word "British' - will it impact Boris' plans in post Brexit talks ?
I know many friends left at t'Beeb will be delighted and hope it signals the beginning of the end for blatant cronyism & continual efforts to bully it into going soft on Govt's errors. trebles all round !
BREAK - Richard Sharp has resigned as

chairman after months of controversy around his help with the facilitating of a loan guarantee for former PM Boris Johnson
A rare minister who has real mastery of his brief and apparently little ambition beyond doing his job well - not the sort this government can afford to lose
latest movers and shakers out now. This week’s episode includes electrodes and screaming – all sound a bit gothic but
Gillian shows great courage talking about Deep Brain Stimulation -and shows us what happens when her remote control is switched off.
In our NEWS REPORTING RADIO and AUDIO category our winner is World at One, BBC Radio 4 with Trump’s Tulsa Rally, and a Massacre in 1921 Congratulations!!

Parky makes me swap between painfully slow typing and the truly dreadful dictation function on Word but at least it made me giggle transcribing 'Liz Truss' as 'less trust'. Out of the mouths of babes and poor software ..
1. Veteran Mark Mardell has just left the BBC. He said goodbye to listeners of WATO and TWT and now feels free to speak his mind. He talks about his concerns over the reporting of Donald Trump and his supporters...

For the last 6 weeks I've followed the
@brexit_partyuk
, from its very first rally to its last. The Tory party might be about to transform. If so, it started with the rise of this new force: an assault on British political life. My special report.
1 I do try to show restraint criticising old colleagues but fail to understand why presenters don’t ask the obvious of ministers defending BJ by banging on about vaccine role out –

2 – “OK you think he’s done a really good job but does that give him licence to break the rules ?” “If so, how far does that indulgence go? Parking on double yellow lines ? Theft ? Murder?” Feet to the fire !

BBC R4 1800 reports 'queues' but not a word on petrol stations closing - glad everything hunky dory in Yeadon but here in Surrey 5 places we passed were shut, M25 plastered with 'no fuel' warnings. Beeb avoiding 'panic' at expense of not reflecting reality
