Newcastle look to have picked up a real gem in Sven Botman. He may have some awkward moments during his first season in the PL as he adapts but he has been very good so far. Power, pace, good in the air, distribution is excellent. Looks a proper player #NUFC

Cole Palmer and Anthony Gordon have 65 goal contributions (goals and assists) in 96 appearances between them this season. Unless they’re injured there is no reason why both/neither have had any game time in either game so far. Crying out for them here and have been for a while.

With no #NUFC or #SAFC game this weekend it would be great to see supporters of both clubs and the people of Gateshead get behind @GatesheadFC on Saturday. Just 90 mins from Wembley in the FA Trophy. The players, manager and the club as a whole deserve a big crowd against Bromley

A 2-1 home win against champions Chesterfield means Gateshead have now officially qualified for the National League play-off places. They still have two home games remaining as they host Aldershot Town on Wednesday and Bromley on Saturday.

I understand the need for caution as we try and find our way towards something approaching normality. But I can't understand how tens of thousands of people can sit alongside each other on a beach, but 500 people can't socially distance in a non-league ground for friendlies.

The @NonLeaguePaper has increased its coverage from 48 pages to 56! All for the same price of £1.50 which, incidentally, has been the fixed newsstand price of the paper since 2008! Support the paper by sharing this message and more importantly buying a paper this weekend!!

Three years ago today @HebburnTown put out an appeal after attendances plummeted and the club’s 105-year existence was at risk. Amazing that after a lot of hard work and new investment they are now just two rounds from a place at Wembley in the Vase

Two North East clubs in the FA Vase Quarter-Finals ( @MarskeUnitedFC and @stockton_townfc ) and two in the FA Trophy Quarter-Finals ( @GatesheadFC and @SpennymoorTown ). Great achievement for all four clubs and shows there's a lot to be positive about in North East football
