Let’s take a peak at the NCAA field..
Number 1 overall seed plays the 6.
Number 5 (East coast) plays the 13.
Number 2 plays the 9.
Number 3 (East coast) plays the 8.
Wait why does the 1st overall seed have the hardest region final?
@NCAAIceHockey
This doesn’t add up???
College Hockey selection is just a fucking joke. Losers hate Minnesota college hockey teams. Could have 3 in the frozen four but these fucks want Quinn and BU so fucking badly.
Breaking: Eden Prairie has acquired the rights to Cretin-Derham Hall’s Matt Gleason. In return, Cretin-Derham Hall will receive Eden Prairie’s next two out of state recruits. Crazy news before the section trade deadline. Eden Prairie is clearly all in for this years postseason.
I wouldn’t mind if the Big Ten and NCHC just said fuck it and left the NCAA and just made a super conference with their own super tourney at the end of the year.
It’s time for a JV State Tournament. Doesn’t have to be a big deal but it would be interesting to see what sophomores and juniors that aren’t on varsity can do and give them an opportunity to get meaningful win or go home games to prepare for varsity.
Random thought. If Hermantown would have made the leap to AA… they would have played Andover in the section 7AA title game. Both are champs now because of Hermantowns courageous effort to stay in single A.
The Gophers might have 7-8 players from the US-under 18 team on the roster next season. Mankato State might have 10 players from the US-under 27 team next year. Minnesota hockey proud!
Fan sees Gopher player… oh he was awesome in the state tourney last season!
Fan sees Mankato player… oh he was awesome in the state tourney seven years ago!
It’s so funny how every year on the Friday before the state tourney, 25 journalists come out of the woodwork and are suddenly experts on HS hockey after attending Hill vs WBL. They talk hockey again for 8 more days and then disappear again for the next 51 weeks.
Hermantown is beating up a AA team that has like 10 elite leaguers and a Mr. Hockey favorite while they don’t have their two best players the Plante brothers. They need to be in AA 10 years ago. They may won a few AA titles already.
I respect the Luverne player asking out his prom date at the state tourney… only issue is when his future wifes proposal is much worse and she eventually finds out.
Honest question… why is Denver such a powerhouse in college hockey? They literally reap the benefits of great hockey players from around the US and Canada and I’m not sure a single kid from Colorado has ever played for them.

Not a very good title game in my opinion. Not as many whistles as I like. The refs let them play. Overtime is never fun. Too few goals scored. Crappy tournament and even worse title game.
I accepted the Duluth East head coaching job earlier today but have already been ousted by the parents. I want to thank everyone for my wonderful time as head coach. Though it’s disappointing I’m still the best hockey player and coach to ever lace them up in Minnesota. Thank you.
Obviously Edina was good enough to win and did.
I just want to see legitimate endings.
Why can’t we get this right?
Why does the Lake get these unjustifiable calls on the reg?
This was an OT game.
THAT’S THE HERMANTOWN HAWKS. THEY ARE LITERALLY SO TALENT RICH THAT THEY CAN SUSTAIN ARGUABLY THE MOST DOMINANT D1 HOCKEY TEAM IN THE COUNTRY WITH RECRUITS AND BEAT ANY TEAM IN THE STATE BUT FOR WHATEVER REASON PLAY AY THE LOWEST LEVEL OF COMPETITION.
It sucks that Mankato is now going to lose to Denver but remember Mankato’s players are tired from a lifetime of hockey. Time to enjoy retirement and collect social security.
Honestly the only reason I root against the eastern hockey teams is the east coast bias in media coverage and regional selection. Bucci so badly wants Quinnipiac to win. And I hate Wisconsin and Hastings. But here I am rooting for Wisco.
I can’t remember a time when 2 current MN HS hockey goalies were committed to D1 colleges simultaneously. Goalies almost always commit in juniors and never in HS. We have some great goaltenders in MN right now.
Rumor Mill:
Dean Evason has accepted the Eden Prairie head coaching job and is leaving the Minnesota Wild effective immediately. Citing the money and talent pool at EP as a significant upgrade to his current situation.
No 5 minute major.
Ref blocks/stops Chan from gaining the zone and then it turns into an Edina PP.
Leads to a fake PP then ends the game.
ASTERISKS TITLE.

Women talking to Bucci just said. “You don’t cheer for teams as a broadcaster, but you do cheer for people.”
Weird I’ve always been able to tell who Bucci wants to win while listening to him call college hockey games.
Hearing rumblings from the University of Wisconsin competition committee and Athletic Director that the Badgers are taking a serious look at relegating themselves to Division III hockey and potentially joining the MIAC in athletics across the board.
If Duluth East and Apple Valley both have covid we may as well just let them play their own private tourney on Friday night until 1:30 in the morning. 25 year reunion.
The path to play hockey for the Wisconsin Badgers
-Age 18-21 Juniors (NAHL/USHL)
-Age 22-24 CCHA/ECHC
-portal transfer to Wisconsin
-Redshirt first year as Badger (25 yo)
-Age 26-27 play 2 years for Badgers
I get dump and chase is needed if the other team is forcing you into this choice but why do teams literally play dump and chase as their primary decision crossing the red line? Work your ass off to gain possession and you just give it back. What a loser way to play hockey.
I promise the Wilds game winner will not make Sport Centers top 10 tonight but a 8 foot man with 4 foot arms jumping 4 inches vertically off the ground and putting a ball through a hoop ten feet in the air will.
Everyone is talking about Mankato East playing with mostly JV players tonight but no one ever mentions EP is playing with mostly recruited players every night.
After the Vikings win this afternoon, Adam Thielen said it was fun to watch a ton of his ex-classmates from Mankato beat the Gophers in hockey on Saturday to prevent the sweep.
Approaching 10 years of Big Ten hockey and it’s still the greatest move ever. Better teams and rivalries in the B1G than there ever was in the WCHA. I’d much rather watch the Gophers play Penn State on a Friday night than UMD, North Dakota, or Denver.
