y’all can’t convince me black women are masculine when EVERYTIME someone wants to present hyper-feminine they start acting like a caricature of a black woman
Reminder that the shooting incident happened in the midst of the BLM protests in 2020. There were Black people making and reposting memes about a Black woman getting shot.
using this tweet for a larger point: no one really blames the central american women for their sons’ cartel terrorism. no one blames the afghani women for their sons’ role in taliban etc. but for the black american woman, she is to blame for her sons terrorism -
this is interesting cause it doesn’t explain why africans on the continent sold their own women & children to ayrabs & turks for thousands of yrs before white ppl even knew of an africa
@rachelkayw
@selfcarequeenab
& as I said before, it was learnt through colonization. Our colonizers were disturbed by how free, and powerful women were on the continent. ALSO, I mentioned religion because it perpetuates it on the continent & off.
the issue with bell hooks is that she cannot pick a side. you can’t acknowledge woman’s suffering under patriarchy while making excusing for the people doing it. i lowkey hate that about her
Controversial take but I find Bell Hooks to be completely insufferable. Her books can be boiled down to - “Men suffer under patriarchy too and you should feel bad for them” HOW ABOUT NO?! I DON’T CARE THAT THEY SUFFER. I DON’T FEEL BAD FOR THEM. PLEASE.
@MissYeahHo
how many of these women are mixed race? how many of these women are written as the asexual mammy? the side character confidant? the jezebel? how many of these women are written to be normal, complex women?
if black women were smart, they would see that meg’s situation is not isolated; its a microcosm of how the large black community feels about you and your pin, trauma and abuse
@MissYeahHo
and my point is the media is using the black female image to push an agenda on us specifically. not all bw casted are fat but when they DO cast a fat women, she is almost always black. dark skinned specifically.
but instead, y’all are looking at this as a funny spectacle. if this women who is rich, successful and attractive can be subjected to this, you are not immune.
like a black girl can have the most broad nose, pretty lips and dark skin and if its harmonizing in anyway shes a euro…..why can’t she just be attractive
there is always this push of paradoxical advice when it comes to black women.
first it’s “lower your standards”, “grade them on a curve”, “give a brotha a chance”
then its “pick better men”, “he’ll only do what you allow”, “you ignored red flags”.
coming back to this to say successful black men need to use their platform to encourage other BM to reach their potential financially & emotionally. stop suggesting BW settle for less in love & start having higher standards for those obviously contributing to a clear disconnect.
its mostly *understood* that these women do this out of necessity and somewhat survival. but due to the BA woman being of the west, she does not get that same empathy.
its seen largely as a choice and a call into character of the BA woman that she continues to do this dance with the males of the community.
so logically, what would be the next best step for the BA woman going forward?
I think most of y'all need to get out of this inferiority complex that has u In a chokehold nd try to hold a different perspective of the world other than ur constant paranoia about not being picked or whatever There is a much bigger world out there Pick a book nd get over urself
people are trying really hard to insinuate that female rappers beauty standards are imitating transsexuals, but they’re actually trying to imitate strippers
@MissYeahHo
@Its_Spectre_00
its more about portraying black women as the brute and other lighter, brighter women as the superior female archetype. but yeah sure giggle with a male about this “pro-bw” 👍
@jemboreeisfake
its sad cause she was the one black female singer that reached mainstream success looking normal and represented an everyday archetype. thats all over now
@Innerspace900
and its so obvious thats what it is too. like she has body dysmorphia and trying to fit into
#their
standards when she didn’t initially have to
yall are very unserious as a collective tbh no sort of self preservation instinct. yall continue to let others shit on you while you mule for them…somethings got to give 😭
Y’all: “my friend is actively being beat on and is with a man I do not like so I will cut off the friendship bc *I’m* annoyed by it and she can be with that man since she wants him so bad”
Also y’all: *posts about Tina Turner, mental health, crisis hotlines*
@LeDerpyPanda
Exactly!!! And this is why I will never call it "AAVE." No, it's Ebonics and different Black Diasporas have mutually intelligible subdialects within it.
@Easternroyalty1
its complete BS. the schools that they try to get in, they’re usually the second largest group represented. they want to blame blacks for not being treated white.
@veryjoy00
if your mad ass wasn’t so triggered you would see that thats my initial point. she didn’t need to do what she did cause she already had that appeal. who is she doing it all this for?
tbh, the image of a transsexual to the average persn prior to 2014 was a rupaul, or the jerry springer ones, so eh not quite
these girls are trying to channel southern video vixen more than anything
