is healthy eating, exercise, not smoking etc important? of course but people will still get cancer and motor vehicle collisions and heart attacks and all sorts of stuff despite doing all the right things (which arent always easy to do) oh yeah and catch the deadly pandemic virus

@MDaware @barkflight I think his point is you can prevent a lot of healthcare issues by eating healthier, & getting exercise. It would help lower obesity complications that arise from being overweight. That said it isn't a cure all.

@MDaware @7im Okay sure. He is right— exercising and eating better so that you need less healthcare is a great idea. But I don’t see why it’s an either/or thing.

@MDaware maybe if people could just pull themselves up by their boot straps harder they wouldn’t get congenital diseases or cancers

@MDaware it shows the false panacea of preventative care—people live longer, will require healthcare

@MDaware All about healthy habits, but those essential oils in the Whole Foods “pharmacy” aisle don’t quite cut it in the ICU.

@MDaware Have they tried not getting Covid19? (Hint: pay people to stay home, vaccinate, masks, distancing, outside>inside, hand washing. Oh yeah, try not being POC or from low-income family. Or ACEs.

@MDaware @Mammals_Suck What an elitist and arrogant statement. Has he not heard of food deserts? Resources and accessibility are limited.
