A statement from the family of Loretta Lynn.
"Our precious mom, Loretta Lynn, passed away peacefully this morning, October 4th, in her sleep at home at her beloved ranch in Hurricane Mills.” The family of Loretta Lynn.
Congrats to my dear friend,
@DollyParton
, for celebrating 50 years as a member of the Grand Ole
@Opry
. She’s my mountain sister. I love her music and I will always love her.

I’m just heartbroken over the loss of
@TheNaomiJudd
. My fellow Kentucky girl, my friend, and an amazing singer. There are no words. Please pray for Wynonna, Ashley, Larry, and grandchildren. Heartbroken. Sending all my love.
Country music is a family unto itself, and today our family hurts. Toby Keith was authentic country and a tremendous songwriter. Loretta loved both these things about him. Our family and the country music world grieves.
We will miss you, Toby. Join us in praying for his family.
My new record means so much to me, but this last year I had to focus on my health and I decided to hold up the release. I’m feelin’ good and look forward to it comin’ out.
Take a listen to the first song and get ready for the album comin’ on 9/28
Heartbreaking. I truly loved my friend, Charley Pride. The world will never be the same. He was one of the very best things that ever happened to country music. I'm all tears tonight.

It was today in 1960 – 62 years ago - that I signed my first record deal with Zero Records, releasing “I’m a Honky Tonk Girl” which hit
#14
…and the rest, as they say, is history. Check out this picture of my first “artist” photos, me and Doo did it ourselves.
Well Y'all, leave it to me to go and get sick on the very night all my friends are getting together to honor me at the CMT Award Show as their Artist of a Lifetime. I can’t believe that I'm not gonna be there tonight in person, but I am watching and I’m there in spirit!
Country music will never be the same. Charlie was a heck of an artist. I can’t even begin to count the number of times we worked together. He was so much fun! He was always such a good friend to me and I loved him. We’re all going to miss him so much.

American music icon, Loretta Lynn is recovering from a fractured hip after a fall while at home. She is doing well and thanks all her fans for their thoughts and prayers.
Betty White is an American icon! I’ve always loved her. 99 and doing fine—an Inspiration to all us young girl! Thank you, Betty. I hope your birthday was fantastic and that this is your best year yet! We all adore you.

Our family is so deeply touched by the overwhelming outpouring of love and support since losing our mom. We are amazed at the number of people hoping to attend her memorial on October 30.
I was taught that you treat others the way you want to be treated. That simple truth has served me well my whole life. As I've watched the pain and the hurt so many are in right now, I've just prayed for our country. We need God now, more than ever.
The days have been long at the ranch lately. We’ve cried together and held each other a little tighter. Sadly, you never know when you may lose the ones you love. It’s been tough here. Today is Doolittle‘s birthday. I thought of him all day long. We fought hard and we loved hard.
Right after we lost Pasty, I couldn’t sing her songs. It hurt too much. I really was in a daze. Eventually though I knew her songs had to be sung. She deserved it.
45 years ago today I put out the album, “I Remember Patsy” and I still do. I still love her. I still miss her!
A lot of years have gone by but me and this old guitar keep on going. I still love writing and putting out music today as much as I did all those years ago. I’m so excited about my new album coming out on Friday!

I can’t ever explain enough how I loved him. He was the best. Gentle and wise and such a hard working man. I guess he was always working. He loved mommy so much and he loved us. I’d give anything for him to see me sing—especially at the
@opry
. He was gone too soon.
Time flies when you’re having fun! 60 years ago a dream came true when I became a member of the
@opry
. It’s still the most magical place in the world and holds so many wonderful memories for me!
One of the happiest moments of my career was the day I became a member of the
@opry
. Nobody knows how much I love it. It is country music! I can’t believe it was 59 years ago!
Today, my Doo would be 96 years old. Wow! I still remember that young soldier I first met in Butcher Holler. Happy birthday, honey.

Today, Loretta’s daughter Cissie is undergoing a critical surgery in her battle against a recently reoccurring cancer. Your prayers for Cissie and her family would mean so much to us. The Lynn Family
CMA will always hold a special place in my heart. Being the first female artist to win Entertainer of the Year was a dream come true. Congratulations to all of the artists. Great job,

It’s Patsy Cline’s birthday and I sure wish she was here to celebrate. We’d have a big time! She took me under her wing, showed me the ropes, and became my best friend—a sister.
A momma is pretty lucky when her baby boy turns out to be one of her best friends. I don’t know how in the world you’re 69 with such a young momma! Love you, son.
A statement from the family of Loretta Lynn:
Our hearts are so deeply touched by the beautiful tribute held Sunday night at the
@opry
to honor Loretta's life and legacy. The night perfectly captured her career and the performances were phenomenal.
55 years ago today I put this song out and it became a
#1
hit. Some advice never gets old and, boys, I recommend you keep this one in mind still today!
It breaks my heart to learn of Ralph Emery’s passing. Ralph and I go way back. He was a Nashville original and you cannot underestimate the role he played in the growth and success of country music. He made you feel at ease and interviewed everyone just like an old friend.
When I came along it was a man’s world. I idolized Kitty Wells and Patsy Cline—the original female trailblazers! My heroes and inspiration. I’m always grateful and never forget what they did for me…for country music…for all us girls.
The
@RecordingAcad
were so special to Loretta. She was nominated or won an award every decade (multiple times) for 6 decades in a row! Amazing. The show’s tribute to her by
@KaceyMusgraves
will be especially touching as Kacey will be playing Loretta’s very own Epiphone guitar.
Today’s my Jack’s birthday. He was born a year and 2 weeks after my Betty Sue. I was so young that we practically raised each other, but they were my life. They were a handful but we had fun. I always had one on each hip.
Ernest Ray knew exactly what to get this momma for Christmas. I love this picture of me and Doo that he had enlarged and framed. What's your favorite gift this year?
It was a huge treat for me to go to Ray Steven’s show at CabaRay this weekend. He kept me laughing the whole time! He’s such a wonderful entertainer. I am so happy that he’ll be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame this year. Love you, Ray...keep the laughs coming!”
"I was so honored that my very dear friend
@LorettaLynn
and her family visited the CabaRay. Like I told the audience, 'There are queens and first ladies of country music, but there's only one Coal Miner's Daughter!' Bless you Loretta. You are a treasure!”
I’ve always loved her, but it wasn’t until the last year that I really FELT what she’s sang about all these years— and just how much we really do have in common. Thank you
@LorettaLynn
, for making me feel like it’s okay to write my truth and be unashamed.. just like you. 🤍
This was a big day for me in 1980! The movie “Coal Miner’s Daughter” debuted and, oh man, did we have a great time. It was a bigger hit than I ever dreamed, but the best thing from it has been my enduring friendship with Sissy Spacek. She’s the best.

My heart is just broken over the passing of my longtime friend,

. He played on so many of my records. He and his brother Owen were such a big part of my life in music. They're family to me. I'll sure miss him.

Before lights, camera, action a girl's gotta have hair and makeup! My usual gal couldn't be here tonight so Tim and Patsy are filling in. I'll let you know how they do! Heading to

Awards to receive the Kris Kristofferson Lifetime Achievement Award.
I was so sad to hear of Bobbie’s passing. There’s nothing like family on the road together, singing, and sharing life together. I know they’ll all miss her and we will, too. I love you,
@WillieNelson
.
I just received a letter from a long-time fan, including a picture taken in 1962! I’ve got a special place in my heart for law enforcement. They’ve always taken good care of me through the years at concerts and events. Them and me both could sure tell some stories!
I loved writing this song, “Ain’t No Time to Go” with my daughter Patsy about not wanting to let go of those you love. It took on new meaning after my stroke. I wasn’t ready to go and still got a lot of living to do! You can watch the video on

This was the last song I ever wrote for Doo. I sang it to him when he was dying. “Wouldn’t it be fine if you could say you love me, just one time, with a sober mind? Wouldn’t that be fine? Now, wouldn’t that be fine?” Listen here

On this day in 1948 Loretta and Doo were quietly married in Kentucky. Little did they know then that theirs would become an epic and dramatic love story and marriage to be known by the world.
I always loved entertaining our soldiers. It was one small way I could say thank you. It breaks my heart to think of those soldiers who gave their lives for us. Their sacrifice can never be measured but I will always be grateful.
Well, I know where you're going and who's gonna meet you there...." Happy New Year, friends! 2018 was a heck of a roller coaster ride and I'm sure looking forward to 2019! Hope you enjoy this little throwback song of mine wishing a "Happy New Year!"
I sure miss him and I promise you they don’t make ‘em like my daddy anymore. If you still have yours—hug him and do something special for him. They’re gold!

Y’all know I love animals and there’s always every kind possible around this place. Horses are especially a love of mine.
Ernie Lynn brought his horse Fiddler by to see me today. I’m so glad he’s home from the hospital and recovering!
She was first. It was Betty Sue who made me a momma. I was just 16 when she was born and three more weren’t too far behind her. Those early days were full and long. Keeping house, working the garden, and keeping up with the little ones was more than a full time job.
I still can't get over this statue! I remember showing up and sleeping in the parking lot and hanging out on the sidewalk like it was yesterday. Now they can't get ever get rid of me! Love the Opry and the Ryman!
My team told me it is

Nobody could make me madder than him. Nobody was in my corner more than he was. He was my rock. If he were here we’d all spoil him today. Instead we smile and think of all the memories the good times gave us. I love you, honey.

It was 12 years ago today that I was honored with a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. Such an honor! Here we are 4 albums later with 3 making the Top Ten, a Grammy nomination, a CMA Artist of a Lifetime award, and the Presidential Medal of Freedom
The Lynn family is sad to announce that Loretta’s long-time assistant and dear friend, Tim Cobb, has passed away. Tim was Loretta’s assistant for thirty years, beginning in 1982. She loved him dearly, and so did we. Tim was a member of our family, and we are heartbroken.
A couple years ago I was asked to share what Easter means to me. I was shocked when this became on the largest covered stories and most shared posts I’d ever had. It comes from the heart and I think of it every Easter. Happy Easter, everyone.
This is Patti Blackard Alexander a coal miner's daughter. She sent a note about how much she and her students love me! Now, I just loved this. I sure love my fans and especially have a soft spot for all my sister coal miner's daughters out there!
