I joined a group called Pioneer Girls (in Grade 3?) because a friend said it was fun and they did crafts and things, and on week three they gave me a Bible and opened to the first page where there were two places to write my name: 1/2
@ethanjweiss
My name is ___
and
I confess I am a sinner and fall short in the eyes of God. ___
And I thought the second one was really mean because they didn't know me at all. And I wouldn't sign it, and they said I had to, and I wouldn't, and they kicked me out.
(It WAS really mean.) 2/2

Sounds like you dodged a bullet back then. Looks like a formal indoctrination program of some form. Even had a rank system where you could rise to the rank of "colonist". Yeesh!

It was Lavalier level! I remember that now! Yikes!
I did learn to make a really cool camp stove out of a coffee can, a tuna can, a strip of cardboard, and melted wax, so it wasn't a complete waste. And I gained a relevant story for Twitter. That in itself is always a win.

I was a Pioneer Girl! I even worked at Camp Cherith in the barn so I could be there for free 😂
My ✨favourite✨ PG night was when the Boys Brigade was playing Dodgeball & we were seeing who could put pillow cases on the fastest ☠️

Holy cow, wild pioneer girls mention. My mom was a PG leader and so I took part up until HS and even then I was swindled into being a helper many nights. Still have my old Camp Cherith shirt but strickly cause I don't know what do with the shirt.
