I often compare my job to that of a CSI (love the show). Patient = crime scene. Me (CSI) gathers evidence (H&P, labs, imaging, etc). Come up with suspects (differential diagnoses) So... I came up with a new title GSI (Gut Science Investigator). Debate with my hubby:

Saw patient who thought I was brilliant (paraphrasing a bit here) for prescribing a Squatty potty and breathing for #IBS . They came back so much better. Of course there was more to it, like making a definitive diagnosis but a reminder that we can’t forget the fundamentals.
