The @librarycongress and @NMAAHC pulled their funds together in 2017 to acquire this 1860s album that incl a never before seen photo of Harriet Tubman. This historic partnership allowed the photo to be preserved and viewed by the public for generations.

We’ve been on cherry blossom watch here at @librarycongress , waiting for our 100-year-old cherry blossom trees to bloom. It is looking beautiful today. We are home to two of the original group of 3,020 Yoshino cherry trees given to Washington, DC, in 1912, by the city of Tokyo.
