Every year we hold a memorial service to honor the United States Capitol Police officers who died in the line of duty. It is our most sacred event. Let us never forget our fallen brothers and always keep their families in our hearts.
This May, USCP's Hazardous Devices Section (HDS) celebrates its 50th anniversary since its founding. For 50 years, the USCP technicians, also known as our Bomb Squad, have kept the U.S. Capitol building and the Congressional community safe. Thank you HDS!
Itโs National Public Safety Telecommunications Week! Here at the USCP, we have a top notch communications team who is ready to answer the call 24/7. Thank you for all that you do!
Officer Joseph Rudiger responded to the Key Bridge collapse for the Navy Reserves. We are proud of his service on Capitol Hill and with the military.
Officer Rudiger is just one of our many standby reserve & active-duty employees. Thank you all for your service!
Washington, D.C. is not in the path of totality for today's solar eclipse, but it should still be an impressive sight. Here, almost 90% of the sun's surface will be blocked by the Moon for a few minutes around 3:20pm. Tips for safe eclipse viewing here:
