My son is an artist and I always get the most amazing birthday presents from him ❤️ Ruby Bridges, born in 1954, was the first African American student to attend an all-white school. At just 6 years old, Ruby helped pave the way for civil rights action - an inspiration to us all.

It is estimated that the five-day @UKLabour conference brought 12,500 delegates to Liverpool and generated an estimated £20m in economic benefit for the city. The conference will be returning to Liverpool in 2023, and we look forward to hosting.

Today I say goodbye to my uncle Clyde. He emigrated from Trinidad to Liverpool at 16 years old. He played the steel drums and often performed in The Cavern. He taught me so much. I still remember my first Notting Hill Carnival by his side. Goodnight & god bless, Uncle Clyde. X

Lucky to get a tour of Liverpool’s new five star hotel today, The Municipal Hotel & Spa. Blown away by the work and investment that has went into restoring this council building. It now has 170+ hotel rooms, a spa, gym, bar & seafood restaurant right in the heart of our city.

This morning I was on @BBCBreakfast talking about the brutal treatment of @lfc fans that I witnessed at the @ChampionsLeague final. We need the French authorities to take this seriously and a commitment from @UEFA that this can't ever be allowed to happen again.
