Chelsea were 0.99-0.29 xG when Malo Gusto sees red, with a Raheem Sterling and Nic Jackson chance flagged offside that would have been VAR'd on if they scored worth a combined 0.5 xG. 1.5 - 0.3 in 57 minutes is not just fine, it's excellent. Chelsea were excellent for 57 minutes.

Looked at some YoY comparisons (LUT=SOU) for Chelsea. Lots of noise in 4 game sample but: 1⃣ The attack is *a lot* better. More/better shots. More box/final third entries. 2⃣ The defense is about the same as 22/23 (3rd best team by xGA/90) Take a deep breath, we're fine.

I don't even think Arsenal are *that* good but they're absolutely min maxing all the little things smart teams do. They press, they try and kill games when they're +1, they run good set pieces, they use their subs. Really well coached, and not just by Arteta.

It’s not enough that Fabinho touches it last, it has to be a deliberate action on the ball (a pass, sometimes a slide tackle). Blocking a shot or intercepting a pass doesn’t bring the offside player back on. Fabinho here very clearly doesn’t meet 2 3 or 4.
