The anti trans vitriol that has come out of some of the Overwatch community these past couple of days is truly disgusting and cannot be allowed to continue. Those who are bringing this toxin into the community should not be allowed anywhere near Overwatch.
I'm so so happy for Spectra. I think he's been OWL ready for a long time. I remember first seeing him pop up on Team CC back in 2020. Team CC was struggling in the loser's bracket during the Echo meta and in the Loser's semifinals NoHill made the decision to start Spectra (1/2)
They're ready to approach the Western Region 🚶♂️🚶
They've shown their thorns in APAC Contenders, and now it's time we ripple through the Summer Stage. Get ready for the golden experience 🕺
Welcome
@OPENER_ow

@ow_spectra

We are glad to announce Zhuo "Pineapple" Li has rejoined
#HangzhouSpark
as our new support player.
This year, Pineapple secured a champion for Rhodes in Contenders 2023 Spring Series APAC. We believe he will shine again at a new position.
Welcome back, Pineapple!
That behavior in the OWL chat today should absolutely NOT be allowed to stand whatsoever. There is literally no reason that type of vitriol should be allowed in the community.
Those people in that chat don't deserve the right to speak freely in that chat.
That was one of the most fun weekends I've ever had in my life. Thank you so much for
@overwatchleague
for having me on broadcast and on the desk. Everyone was so warm and welcoming and I loved every second of it. I hope you all enjoyed too :D
Till we meet again~
Fun fact: Fearless and GA9A were on the same team together on Team CC back when Fearless was in Contenders. GA9A was the backup and essentially replaced Fearless once he got called up to Shanghai. That's gonna be a really cool matchup to see to start the May Melee.
Getting to be a small part of Overwatch League this year was an honor and a dream. I've met so many amazing people through Overwatch esports. Friends who I consider family and I hope last a lifetime. I would not be who I am today with this game that I love.
Thank you Overwatch.
Actually gonna give huge props to
@overwatchleague
production for showing that clip at the end even through all the swears. That raw emotion is great to see right after the win so all of the fans can experience it with the team at relatively the same time. Really enjoyed that :)
I made a tweet back in 2019 about the iconic plays we had in Overwatch and with OW1 coming to an end I honestly don't know if there is anything that will ever beat Profit's Volskaya Tracer 5k from OWL Season 1 in Grand Finals.
Also the casting is so so good from Uber and Mr.X
From playing 2-way and winning a Championship with Team Chaser earlier this year to getting Top 6 in OWL end of season playoffs after stepping in for ELSA and performing the best he had in years. LATEYOUNG had an amazing year and stint with the Chengdu Hunters organization.
Today we part way with our number 64 player LATEYOUNG.
Lateyoung officially leaves Chengdu Hunters and becomes a free agent. Thank
@LateYoungOW
for having been the strongest shield and solid backup force of Hunters for 1043 days. Wish him keep shine bright on his way forward!
That was so much fun 😄
Thanks so much for
@OverwatchLeague
for having
@RichRadLive
and I on broadcast.
Casting Overwatch is something I really love to do and I hope you all enjoyed.
See you next time ❤️
Today I finished my last class at the University of Connecticut for my degree. There was a time where I wasn't sure I'd ever get a degree, let alone one from UConn. I've very grateful to the professors and staff in my program who helped me throughout my time there.
Go Huskies :)
I think one of the coolest things about how the Spark plays this meta is the usage of Kirko to force out mobility or defensive cooldowns from enemy teams. I remember specifically on King's Row Teru really showed the power of this type of play. (1/4)
So in League esports there are a lot of "iconic plays" in it's history (Pray Ashe arrow or Faker Zed 1v1).
I was wondering what would be the equivalent in Overwatch esports. Things like Carpe Widow on Night Market or the Dafran grav. I'd love to hear if people have any others :)
That was an absolute blast. Than you so much for
@overwatchleague
for having
@RichRadLive
and I on the desk today. I loved being an analyst in person and interacting on the desk was so fun.
See you all tomorrow ☺️
It's actually crazy how impossible this play is and how clutch it is: 🧵
✅Shu Kills Yveltal at 95% to rally. Would've completed turned the fight if she survives for the incoming fight.
✅He flanks BY HIMSELF and windows himself in a 3v5
✅Kills GA9A, no more main tank now a 3v4
That's a wrap for me and
@RichRadLive
for Pro-Am!
Thank you to everyone at
#OWL2023
for having us on to cast these amazing games. Casting these players and teams has been a dream come true and an experience I'll hold near and dear to my heart always.
Till we meet again❤️
Very excited and honored to be casting the Pro-Am. I get to be on broadcast alongside some really cool people and cast OWL teams officially for the first time. Can't wait for the ball to start rolling tomorrow :D
I've always wanted to make an esports teaser/hype video. A lot of the time it's just ideas that I storyboard and I make halfway but never finish. This time though I wanted to see what happened if I completed it. With that being said I present:
Midseason Madness Day 1 Teaser
As someone who is very intertwined with Chinese Overwatch, I really want to give a huge shoutout to
@CDHuntersFacts
and
@GiantOmelette
for giving us so much good info from the Chinese scene on Weibo the community wouldn't see otherwise. If you haven't already, give them a follow.
Molly is arguably one of the best flex supports to come out of China. He's mechanically incredible on Zen and Ana and I think he's definitely an upgrade to Shanghai. He's also fluent in Korean from his time at LGE.HUYA so that shouldn't be a problem.
SURPRISE!
Very excited to be stepping to to cast some
@overwatchleague
with the main man
@RichRadLive
. We'll be covering the first game that kicks off a great weekend of Overwatch League action.
To start we've got
@TorontoDefiant
Vs
@NYXL
📷 :
@GoldenboyFTW
@INTERRO
Iirc it got released at the end of the year right between Battlefield and Call of Duty so it got caught in the crossfire super hard.
Game was so good. Needs that third game like you say.
I'm obviously bias towards Chinese players and CN Overwatch so take this with a grain of salt but I completely don't understand the idea that people think Leave being MVP is recency bias. Leave himself has been constantly one of the best players in the league the whole year (1/3)
Even though Spectra was 14 he played like a seasoned vet. Spectra would immediately prove how talented he was completely taking over the tournament with his Echo. Team CC would only lose a singular map for the rest of the playoffs and gain their 1st Contenders Championship (2/2)
Obviously I'm bias towards Chinese Overwatch but I think Mmonk and Lengsa have been two of the most improved players this year on Ana and Brig respectively. As good as they're both been in Chinese Contenders in the past, this is a completely new level for the both of them.
Recently I've been having a hard time with liking how I look and hating how my body is. However tonight for a dinner I felt like it actually looked nice. And it made me feel better, even if it was just for a small while :)
For the second reveal of our 2022 player roster, let’s welcome No.22 Seokhyun “Innovation” Oh to the team!
We can’t wait to see you play in the league! Fighting,
@innovation_ow

A true legend retires today.
super has been a cornerstone to not only the Shock but also Overwatch esports as a whole. As of today, he will be stepping away from our competitive roster. Thank you, for 4 incredible seasons.
#ShockFam
forever 🧡
That's a wrap for another season of Contenders :) Really enjoyed myself and seeing a new meta come into play made things feel so fresh. I loved learning about a new comp again. The playoffs were a particularly hard time for me as I was going through a death in my family
There's no doubt in my mind Diya should have been in OWL last season with what he accomplished with Team CC in 2020. NoHill was the first piece and Diya will be the second piece to restart the Valiant. Regardless of the rest of the team, this is already a very good start.
According to multiple sources, former Shanghai Dragons and Team CC DPS Weida “Diya” Lu, is expecting to return to the Overwatch League by signing with the Los Angeles Valiant
Hey random thought but do you know who would be great for Dallas because they need a Tracer player AND a hitscan specialist and can also comm in Korean?
Diya.
I wasn't able to really process any of this last night but having pro players recognize me and say nice things about my casting work was really really special and I'm not sure I'll ever get used to being recognized in general 😅
Someone was special all the way back to when he was on Team CC. I'm so glad that finally everyone was able to see it this season on the big stage. Congrats Someone!
If this is the last time we're seeing flex tank play in its current state before OW2, this match, in particular, was one of the greatest examples of fantastic DVa off-tank play. Huge credit to Hawk and Choi. What a series.

I was lucky enough to be one of the winners of this giveaway and it looks amazing in person. Thank you very much to Stephen for putting on this giveaway. I'm very lucky and happy 😁

It's been an honor to be a part of the Chinese Contenders over the past 4 years. I truly fell in love with casting through telling the stories of these players and teams growing, finding their identity, and finding their way to OWL. (1/2)
I think everyone should see this post from Door.
Also to add on, the fact that there are so many pro players in that thread hyping up this "return" is pretty sickening.
EVERY person who is excited about this both in the comments or RTs is male.
This is literally the perpetuation of rape culture.
Men make excuses for men which are heard by men in power which leads to men who think this is okay, which leads to it happening again.
Be better FFS.
The Pro-Am is honestly such a cool idea. I love that we're gonna be able to see Tier 2 players/teams be able to matchup against the OWL teams in a competitive setting. So many cool narratives and storylines can come from a competition like this.
