I’m sorry, but if you’ve never had to win baseball games (as a profession), you can’t criticize a coach for bunting. It’s easy to say bunting sucks from behind an L-screen while “hitting nukes”. Coach meaningful games. You’ll change your tune.

For fringy D1 players, I think that this back log of players ultimately helps. You won’t have the option to go D1 & be the 35th player on the roster anymore. Instead, go to a strong D2/D3/JC & PLAY! If you’re good enough to play pro ball, these avenues can still get you there.

It’s scary how quickly most players stop working once they commit. Committing isnt the end goal. It’s a stop along the way. It’s certainly an accomplishment to be in the top 6.8% of HS players, but now youre ONLY competing against that %. PLUS older, more experienced players.
