The Service continues to lead tree olanting exercises across the country as the country targets to achieve 30% tree cover by 2032.
A total of 3000 seedlings were planted in Kilifi and Kwale counties in the Coast Conservation area.
Nairobi Arboretum occupies 30.4 hectares and is situated 3 km from the city centre. It hosts over 300 species of exotic and indigenous tree species. The arboretum also has over 100 species of migrant and resident bird species in addition to Sykes and Vervet monkeys.

This World Wildlife Day 2023 falls on the 50th Anniversary of Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) coming into being.

Kenya Forest Service is undertaking a multi -agency operation to reclaim Logoman, Sururu, Likia, Kiptunga, Mariashoni, Nessuit, Baraget and Oleposmoru forests within Mau forest complex.
We in collaboration with the General Service Unit (GSU) today conducted a tree planting exercise at the GSU Recce Camp in Ruiru where 10,000 indigenous trees were planted by officers from the two Services.
