The Detroit Lakes Laker Girls Basketball team punched their ticket to the State Tournament for the first time in 13 years with a 46-43 win over top-seed Willmar on Thursday night.

Another Detroit Lakes High School track record was broken today at the 8AA meet! Congrats to the new record holders in the girls 4x100 Ella Paulson, Abby Larson, Jerzie Horner, and Rylee Johnson! The new school record is 49.09!
Ulloytt joined the Lakers as an assistant coach in 1992 before taking over as head coach in 1996. With Ulloytt as head coach, the Lakers won 426 meets, three section titles and sent 83 wrestlers to State.

Detroit Lakes wins the Fergus Falls Holiday Classic to improve to 9-3 on the season. The Lakers have now won 6 games in a row.
Congrats to the Laker Golf teams! The Girls capturing the Section 8AA Championship finishing with a team score of 639 Maddie Herzog finished 2nd with a 152, Shelby Busker 3rd! The Boys shot a 617 Wyatt Blomseth shot a 1 under 71 to finish 2nd Hunter Burnside finished 4th

The Detroit Lakes girls golf team erased a six-stroke deficit to win the Section 8AAA Championship by 15-strokes to return to state for the first time since 2019.
Detroit Lakes Boys hockey has been given the 3-seed for the upcoming Section 8A tournament. They’ll face KCC at the Kent Freeman Arena on February 23rd.

Grace Gunderson won the state high jump title with a jump of 5-05; the girls 4x100m relay team broke the school record (again) in a busy first day of State Track and Field action at St. Michael-Albertville High School.

Detroit Lakes will advance to the Section 8AAA championship on Thursday night after defeating the Sauk Rapids-Rice Storm in straight sets 25-12, 25-17, and 25-17.
Abby Larson took first in the 100m, 200m and was part of the first-place 4x100 as the Laker Girls track team finished in second place at Monday's Otter Invite in Fergus Falls:

Congrats to Rylee Johnson, who broke the DLHS record in the 100m hurdles at State this afternoon! Rylee's record time of 15.14 seconds beats Jessica Stetler's 2010 record of 15.32!
Detroit Lakes senior Ethan Carrier scored three rushing touchdowns and returned a kickoff for another in a 54-10 win over Fergus Falls on Friday night.
