The fire brigade came to honour First Officer, Namene Mbumba, the first female pilot to fly a Namibian President on the Falcon 7X. Namene has been with the Government Air Transport Services since 2017 and was recently certified to fly the President on the main aircraft. Congrats!

Election silly season is upon us and fake social media accounts are out in full force. Some advice for the clumsy trolls with fresh accounts: * add some female pseudonyms, gender equality is key; * If you can’t engage constructively, I prefer insults with correct spelling.

This is important. Critical thinking requires us to be intellectually honesty and hold each other accountable. You can never solve a problem if you intentionally misdiagnose it. Power doesn’t concede without a demand so activism is critical but it needs to be centred in truth.

@Shipululo I understand the context of calling a woman “slay queen,” “crazy” etc. You’ll also understand the men in the comments rushing to tell me I should “know when to keep quiet” and “know my place.” Gendered insults are dangerous exactly because they affirm underlying social biases.
