I am done with my new website, yay! I couldn't have just one style, so I made switchable themes, take a look:

Built in

Almost done with this illustration pack! Gonna open-source it soon.
It's so much fun finding more types of Indians by mixing Figma variants. I've accidentally created a toy for myself
📢 I'm looking for a junior/apprentice UI/UX designer:
📅 Part-time contract for next 7+ weeks
👀 Client is well-respected in tech & design
⚡️ Must have some experience, great with Figma, well-organised
💁♀️ I'm very keen to work with women
Please DM your work. RT for reach 🙏🏽
It has been humbling to design for an India that struggles with English and tech comprehension, yet manages to get so much done while using a phone in English.
Some light-hearted struggles from research:
🫶🏽 I want to share my excitement for my generation of Indian product designers:
We started out with a deficit compared to intnl designers. We were the first to get as much exposure and learning as we did. In our country, we watched our niche fought-after hobbies turn into the...

New invoices to go with my new branding! Invoice design is honestly one of my favourite things because you really get to play with grids
I added them as free templates in Figma Community:
Includes all the GST/PAN/SAC fields needed for Indian tax filing
Swiggy, man, I’m begging you, how do I stop getting 5 promo notifications every day. I’m never gonna use them, your app is just annoying me 5 times a day. Let me opt out (ios). The ones who like them/don’t care will keep them on
Too much is said about consistency and discipline, and not enough about the impact of catching sparks of inspiration, living life in a series of obsessions, capitalising on motivational momentum and chilling the rest of the time, and building a life that allows for this
Amazon: Your Amazon order

has been dispatched
Me: Ooh, which one?
Amazon:

Me: I ordered 5 things, which one?
Amazon: It cost 344
Me: Why can't you just tell me the name?
Amazon: Life is better with surprises
Making scrappy animations in
@webflow
is quite a bit of fun.

It's crazy how many opportunities I've let pass because I didn't feel ready, when in hindsight those experiences would have propelled exactly the growth I wanted.
I was interviewing a GenZ intern today and he says he is looking for work life balance with not more than 5 hours of work.
Doesn't't like the MNC culture so wants to work at a start up.
Also, wants 40-50k stipend.
God bless the future of work.
If I’m not wrong and these badges are AI-generated, this would be a rare example of well-done application in a major product, for a perfect standalone use-case.

Too many ideas in my head for growing my practice and brand, too many WIP side-projects.
So I made a quick prioritisation-matrix-of-sorts in Figjam to decide where to focus.
If you relate, get the template here—
📢 I'm looking for freelancers to work with me:
❖ UI designer: proficient in Figma, component libraries, prototyping (remote ok)
✤ UX Researcher: experienced at interviewing, creating scripts, usability testing (Delhi-based)
Please DM your work. RT for reach 🙏🏽
A cool part of life is, you struggle a lot to get good at something and without realising it one day you find it’s become so easy and simple for you that it almost feels like cheating
PSA for designers: Creative Market has been doing daily free good drops with some amazing fonts to be had for free. Got these just this month.
Refresh everyday:
⬇️ Women in product design ⬇️
I want to try to do my part to enable women in the Indian industry. If you think it may be helpful for you to talk to another woman who's been around for 9 yrs, I am opening up some slots in my calendar for the next 3 weeks:
Anybody else feel terribly proud of their font choices? Like I feel like I peaked as a designer some 4 yrs ago when the then head of design at Medium asked me what typeface I used on my portfolio.
Zomato came to campus placement looking for graphic designers for marketing, I figured being a digital product, there’s a chance they need UI/UX folks too, so I randomly sat for an interview
Nobody asked, but I am so proud of hitting my goal of reading 24 books this year, considering I read 1–3 books the last few years
Top genres: 1. Fantasy 2. Design 3. Linguistics
Top faves: 1. Man's Search for Meaning 2. Name of the Wind 3. Mapping Experiences 4. City of Djinns

Last week I somehow found myself talking about design and research, while sitting between two stalwarts of Indian news—
@shekhargupta
and
@abhinandansekhr
—and enjoyed it thoroughly.
@Durgaraghunath
, thanks for letting me talk about the things I am passionate about!
I've been "collecting" different aesthetics in a Figma file because I love spotting, deconstructing, and sometimes playing with new and old aesthetics.
Is there anything further I could do with this?
🚨 Job alert
My newest client, Juleo, is hiring their first full-time UI/UX designer (2–5 YOE). Great team at a pre-launch startup solving very relatable dating problems! You'll work with me for first 2 months.
More info:
I get where this misconception about working fewer hours comes from, so for the record, 90% of the clients/companies I've ever worked with, wanted to continue working with me past trial period/initial contract, or rehired me, or wanted to hire me full time.
It's so damn fun to make simple websites. This is a little footer for a friend's personal site, animated in Figma rn.
Maybe I should give in and add nocode websites to my Services.
We complain about the overabundance of content online but I acutely remember the dearth of inspiration as a small-town Indian kid in the pre-internet era, and I will never stop being grateful for all the art and aesthetics at my fingertips.

@NotionHQ
. Can drag-drop books from queue to reading to read. Coulda finished 2 books in the time I spent on this but that feeling of well-organised and visually pleasant data is 😌
Saying the obvious but it sucks so much that showing visual work takes 5 secs of screenshot and paste. While showing product/UX/research work takes a damn case study. What are quick and easy ways of doing the latter?
with framer at ₹6,200 currently (annual CMS plan), webflow at ₹23,000 is becoming impossible to justify, especially given how frustrating their Editor product is.
Man I just love product design so much tho. Every disparate part is so damn enjoyable. This field didn't exist when I was born, but I was born to do this.
Trying to make this look and feel better. Currently cursing myself for getting the white keyboard and trackpad, reminding myself that there are better places to spend my money than a pretty mechanical keyboard.
When ppl ask me what my design process is, I don't know what to say because there's no one process. In my books, design is about having a whole set of tools, processes, frameworks, artefacts that I am skilled at. Then work backwards from objectives and context to take the...
