Here's my Scouting Report on Jonathan Mogbo - notes on his passing talent, fluid ball-handling, motor/ instincts for rebounds, and how his skillset can project to the NBA
Scottie Barnes working on mid-range OTD shooting early this off season. Noticeable effort in speeding up his gather, load up and energy transfer to his release.
Don’t really care about Victor Wembanyama’s handle here but the fluidity and balance stepping into his gather off one dribble or the tween cross (2step left-right) is pretty crazy for a guy 7’3.
SGA’s ability to maintain his full stride length at full or slow speed\changing directions while absorbing bumps from defenders makes him an impossible one on one cover.
His crossover base is so wide and combined with…[1/2]
Marquette’s Olivier-Maxence Prosper looked in peak shape showcasing consistent shooting touch from 3 and his elite length as a slasher.
Had a strong workout in front of NBA scouts and executives at the Life Sports Agency Pro Day.
@onpointscouting
Scottie’s high pickups in different arm slots on his gathers makes him so unique. Looked like he was going to go shoot here and just straight lobbed it to Precious.
Had a cool high catch against Looney, stayed in same slot and finished for and1.
Anthony Black got great tools to be solid in lock&trail coverages:
- Quick feet to trail and nav around screens
- 6’7 plus length to contest from behind
He’s every where on this possession - contains the drive, contest from behind and dives to create transition. Great effort.
Having RJ running his natural transition lane (left) raises raps transition game to another level
- on that side he’s finishing on the outside hand (protected to the rim)
- can kickout toward right side shooters than don’t need to break stride
Kamorea “KK” Arnold
@nikehoopsummit
🇺🇸 Women’s standout of the scrimmage against Portland Generals.
Disruptive POA defender, tons of deflections def on/off ball, controlling pace of the game, making great OTD passes.

@onpointscouting
Scottie Barnes is generating zero lift and power in his lower legs. You can see it when he half-turns/spins, he favors his knee.
Last year he would half turn, and load up as he gets perpendicular to the defender to shoulder bump, finish thru defenders
Prospects that are 7’2+above typically don’t have the combination of lower body+core strength to hold post seals/bumps while staying upright.
Yao was a generational prospect b/c he had both. On top of that he was light on his feet, 👇🏼 here able to constantly shuffle his feet…
Mike Sharavjamts flashing pace+stride changes, handle away from body and shoulder flexibility w/ push drib to get past defender hip for the lay on this play.
Precious rip-thru drives are beautiful to watch
On the catch, he has a slight delay b4 he shifts weight from his left-to-right hip flowing into a longer stride (great hip control)
Quick step off his backfoot to get a good angle on the roll defender, +dexterity for wrap finish
Here’s my first OPS Film Room

breakdown with potential 1st round pick 🇨🇦 Leonard Miller
@gleagueignite
We chatted about his improved frame and strength, finding success as play finisher via cutting and getting out in transition, and more!
Gradey’s baseline jump passes are starting to stick out to me. They’ve been pretty accurate finding the right guy on the perimeter, continuing possessions.
Adds versatility to his closeout attacks OTD, especially when he gets run off the line. Wasn’t expecting that in his game.
Awesome Screen Nav from Ausar,
Quick hop to ICE initial screen - no adv created, gets skinny thru the re-screen and cuts off Butler
45 cut causes Detroit breakdown on the 2nd side
Morant comes off the screen straight into a pushcross.
Poeltl is still back pedalling while Ja is already in his penultimate step. As Poeltl turns his hips to match stride, Ja is already in the air. Insane athlete.

Seal Beach Open. Def starts putting on pressure, he uses a double cross & a hand on the floor to stay balanced, bursts to the rim & rises up before 7’7 big rotates
Easy to see why Baylor offered 25’ 6’5 G Isiah Harwell
@UtahProspects
. Length and size at the guard spot with smooth and easy shot mechanics. Watch the pace change of the setup cross into the BTB leaving the defender behind. Smooth right-left plant into the pull-up.

One of the best aspects of Maxwell Lewis’ athleticism is his ability to maintain balance.
He finds ways to maintain wide base on the move: turning cut-offs into semi post-ups & using long controlled strides (step-thru, euro, half-spins) as counters. Finishing w/touch+length.
Kobe Brown is very intriguing. Cool two-way sequence here:
- switches to protect basket on the pin screen & absorbs contact on the bump from TSJ
- stays vertical+gets the steal
- pushes in open court
- attacks def back pedalling w/ jump stop
- shows great touch on the floater
Beautiful timing by Pascal. Attacks space on the ice, snakes and holds Spencer on his hip, waits for Koloko to dive, and just enough space before Pascal to get to his push shot.
6’3 Rav Randhawa
@rav_randhawa35
(J Addison) is a competitive guard, vocal leader, C&S or OTD pull-up shooter with range, doesn’t need much space to get shot off. Currently holds offers from Portland and Hawaii. Also has interest from Davidson.
@onpointscouting
@DrewEbanks
…his quick feet/hip flexibility, he always has a step on most defenders.
Like imagine as a defender you’re on balance in a wide stance and the dude you are guarding is wider on his crossover.
Jmac had to fully turn his body/hips to try and stay in-front.
[2/2]
Game notes about Walter Clayton Jr’s performance vs Kentucky - his notable skills: tight window shooting and hand-off playmaking
Here’s my quick scout report:
Precious bag flashes have been fun today
- double cross jab in transition slow step gather finish
- stutter rip in the left post
- corner catch and go left hand drib spin two foot contact finish
US Women’s Kamorea “KK” Arnold (
@UConnWBB
) just had one of the most impressive drives this week at
@nikehoopsummit
.
Attacked closeout from top of the key, veered thru contact on 1st step of gather while keeping ball in high slot, finding teammate in the dunker for the finish.
The moment Mitchell gets downhill in space, he does that quick left to right cross so he can gather two foot right-left while turning his hips to the right sideline.
Sometimes he gets extra bump higher from defenders jumping late…
Bronny James reading the second level defence. Here’s a flash of his PnR processing: Gets blitz, looks to hit the roller with a hook pass, sees the help defender rotate over and throws the BTB pass for an open corner 3.
So Hugo, gets the switch here and sized up the defender with a tween, in-n-out and then had him changing directions with a left-right cross, tween snatch back. Shifty guard.
UCLA’s Jaylen Clark has lot of tools NBA teams need from an off-ball G that can finish off high-usage advantage creators.
Clark is a great POA/off-ball defender (94 DSI) has great touch at the rim (73 ATR)+ hits spot-up 3s (73 3PE) total CRAM of 10.8 (per
@cerebrosports
) in 9GP.
Can see Castle’s ++ core strength on those vertical stability movements - two foot gather contests at the rim, attacking o boards while defender boxes out, and transition seal+finishes vs smaller defenders
Had a lot of fun watching film with one of the best in the game. If you want to really dive into hoop, read more Samson!
Appreciate you having me on for this brother

I sat down w/ professional scout
@JoshScoutEm
to talk about Scottie Barnes' new role, his overall game, and breakdown his film.
One of my favorite videos I've ever done, there's so much to learn by watching.
full video here:
This catch jab and drive, high pickup finish by 2025 Will Riley 🇨🇦 was special
His most impressive bucket in a 25PTS (9-15 FG, 2-4 3FG), 4ASTS, 3REBS performance vs PG Elite
Man first 3 clips is 3 different finish variations off a two foot stop. Tony Parker floater, length dunk, and midair adjustment finger roll. Elite finishing craft.
SGA was just flat-out dominant last night vs the Bucks. His herky-jerk, stop-n-go style makes him so hard to stop on drives (where he leads the league)
Adding a potent mid-range game this season has made him even more unstoppable.
Kel’el Ware covering ground, moving fluidity in space/perimeter.
Flashed ability to hard hedge on Shead. Retreats on the swing to opp side. Closes out on big making move at elbow, opens hips, slides well, contains causing the TO.
Ware should be versatile in PnR coverages.
Shaedon Sharpe’s vertical bounce of no step/one step is pretty insane for a guard. He needs little effort and time to gather and gets crazy high vertically.
Will Riley (2025 6’9 F
@UPLAYCanada
) has an elite combo of length/touch for finishes around the rim.
Cool flash of it here - skip step hesi to get past initial defender into a tough same foot underhand finish. Great coordination on the 1st left long step gather.
Jalik Dunkley-Distant (Bounce Elite U16) jumping passing lane and finishing through contact in transition. Projects to have pro athleticism with big guard frame.

6’4 G 🇨🇦 Kevin DeKovachich (
@orangevilleprep
) did a great job setting up actions, making plays attacking off PnR/closeouts, jumping passing lanes on D.
High IQ big guard w/ strong frame.
Finished w/ 16PTS, 4ASTS, 5STLS
@tanagersports
For the Raptors, the draft process is well under way. I was joined by professional scout & good friend
@JoshScoutEm
to talk about:
Kobe Bufkin / Gradey Dick / Cam Whitmore
Tons of info & insights, enjoy!
23’ 6’7 F Blake Barkley

Love Vince Williams Jr’s ability to push the pace off the grab-n-go and initiate the offence. He can accurately find the roll man in early drags or giveback screen actions. He even has the ability to shoot as a trail option (although shot wasn’t falling, the shots looked good).
Update: I’ll be
@TarkClassic
again Dec 16-20. Wrote last year about some notable prospects including:
-
@GTMBB
’s Baye Ndongo (recent Big game vs Duke)
- 7’0 2025 C Khaman Maluach (NBA Academy Africa)
- 6’1 2025 G JJ Mandaquit
Here’s my recap for last month’s

in Las Vegas, NV.
@onpointscouting
Dropped some observations on standouts like JJ Mandaquit, recent Rutgers commit Baye Ndongo. Also, NBA Academy’s Alex Toohey, Khaman Maluach, Chris Tadjo and other 🇨🇦’s.
Had a quick Interview with Waterloo 🇨🇦 Native
@JacobTheodosiou
after his standout performance on Day 1 of the

Seal Beach Open.
The 24’ 6’4 G played a year up and displayed toughness on both ends, finding teammates OTD and got out to finish in transition.
@onpointscouting
Noah Clowney with a fluid Keep-action type drive here. Great frame and movement skills at 6’10.
Comes off a hand-off from the 45 slot, takes one dribble to survey, sees the switch is late and attacks w/ 2 hard dribbles + finishing through contact. Great touch on the wide finish.
Nice to see Leonard Miller attack the paint w/ bend on this 45 drive.
- Pump+jab to create angle, maintains drive advantage w/ body
- Controls contact with L hip/shoulder
- Uses pound drib+long drop-step to spin middle when the help comes over
- Shield w/ shoulder on pickup
Here’s my recap for

All The Smoke Classic.
@tanagersports
@onpointscouting
Dropped some thoughts Prolific Prep’s Aden Holloway, 🇨🇦 Mike Nwoko, Tyran Stokes, as well as, Ty Laur-Johnson, Drew Fielder, and more.
Liked seeing this release adjustment by Jett Howard.
On the step-back, he releases his shot on the way up and lower than his regular release. Adjusting to the tight window he needed to get his shot off.
24’ Hudson Ward had powerful drives off the catch on kickouts/transition for varied two/one-foot finishes at the rim. Confidently knocked down slot pull-up 3s.
Strong slashing performance in a late come back in W vs Canyon INTL.
@TarkClassic
There is a useful player in
@MizzouHoops
6’8 F Kobe Brown. Has a 10.5 C-RAM (per
@CerebroSports
)
- Smooth shooting mechanics out to spot-up 3 (44% 3P, 82% FT)
- Functional driving skill on closeouts (absorbed bump+maintains balance on drives)
- Interior strength+passing feel
