Minneapolis now installs road markings that last longer in our harsh winters. They carve a very shallow groove-inlay into the roadway so that the thermoplastic marking is recessed and therefore doesn’t get sheared off by plows.

@TheFitzTheater Garrison Keillor does not need a comeback arc.. Very disappointed in Fitzgerald management and whoever else put this together. I hope you understand the message you are sending.

7 cars parked in the bike lane on my way home from the library and gym. Reported 4 of them but I’ve never seen the city enforce parking law here. Then a frat guy lunged at me and barked while I rode by. Not my favorite day of #30daysofbiking here in Dinkytown.

First 6 dedicated Pickleball courts in Minneapolis Parks system opened last week by the Nokomis Community Center. Replaced 2 old tennis courts. Stopped by last night and the courts were full. Benches + shade umbrellas for those waiting. Next up: Loring Park!

Curious about who placed these heavy planters on the sidewalk along Main across from Father Hennepin Bluff Park, and why! The sidewalks are already blocked at all car entry points by concrete pyramids, so these are just extra hazards for pedestrians.

Just called 3 possible swing-vote Councilmembers about Thursday’s vote to override the Mayor’s veto on 24/7 bus lanes for Hennepin. So glad my phone-phobia isn’t as bad as it used to be, but I’m still nervous sweating 😅
