I’m hearing that former

staff are looking at developing streaming options rather than pursuing conventional broadcast platforms. The revolution won’t be televised or broadcast on radio, apparently.
The lesson of the last ten days, Canadian Football fans: There’s no shortage of passion (on social) about our sport. Please go out and apply it post-pandemic. Be a fan, be a coach, a ref, a volunteer. If we can convert passion to action, it will be A 2021 to remember.

Quit complaining about bad weather football games. The

It’s probably a good time to remind you of that other national football championship the

Hot take: A nine or 10 team pro league is more than satisfactory. You see every game live, and can track all personnel. Everyone plays each other, no guesswork.

I don't know about you guys, but four downs would make this overtime championship way more exciting said no one ever who knows better.

With Mason Fine and Dane Evans both on the field at QB in this game, I believe this is the first time two quarterbacks with indigenous ancestry have played in the same CFL game.
I am honoured to have been acclaimed this morning as the General-Secretary of IFAF, the world governing body of Gridiron Football. Time to contribute to building durable bridges between football in Canada and the world.

Regardless of what happens with USPORTS and TV in the future, I’m selfishly hoping that
@tim_micallef
finds a way to continue on the national scene calling championship moments. His narrative connects two eras of university sport, and it is lesser if he ain’t there.
Let me see if I have this straight: The established all-sports radio station TSN 1040 in
#Vancouver
is being reformatted to all-comedy, a format which failed miserably in 2002 at MOJO 730 which pushed that station to go all-sports. Radio: an industry sausage factory of ideas!
THIS DRIVES ME NUTS. The most avoidable penalty in Canadian football. It's one yard off the ball. Keep your body BEHIND the stripe. There's a giant stripe. Plus, you were called on it on the previous play! C'MON MAN!

The CFL should follow the NFL in regard to pre-season broadcasts. If a network isn’t picking it up, farm it out to a local broadcaster. There are 13 in-house cameras in Edmonton. You can’t tell me there isn’t a way to produce an affordable broadcast.
Once and for all: Having Vanier Cup and Grey Cup in two different cities less than a day apart is the dumbest thing ever. Get it together or play Vanier the following week. Did I mention it was dumb? Dumb!
Canadian quarterbacks.
Many of us have been making the argument for their role and development for decades.
Now both leagues with a major presence in Canada have them to sell the sport to the public.
I am glad we have moved forward. Canadians can play anywhere on the field.
All the leadership roles with the

If anything, the number of Canadian starters needs to go up. These are the guys who give franchises continuity and deep roots in the community. That has value.
The uniqueness of the CANADIAN football league has been our field, our rules and our insistence on having CANADIANS play. Reducing CDN starters from 7 to 5 would diminish this great CDN institution and all it has stood for. Shameful.
While we are three weeks away from Vanier Cup, numerous sources are telling me that there *should* be an agreement in place for an English broadcast of the game. Candidly, I can’t imagine a national championship without one.

The solution for a more aligned Canadian Football calendar? A 10th CFL team. Earlier finish to pave the way for uni and junior to have their own playoff stage. It’s also up to those parties to produce broadcast-worthy events.
At noon,
@SFUFootball
will be officially cancelled for the 2023 season. Alumni are working to ensure this does not happen. This decision, with the lack of stakeholder engagement and the timing around it does not put student athletes first. A sad day no matter the result.
Here are some personal thoughts from someone on the front lines of amateur football in Canada after the news broke yesterday regarding the CFL and XFL discussing possible alignment paths. /1

Here's a prediction no one in BC wants to hear. Road tolls will be reestablished on the Coquihalla to pay for the rebuild since it cost about the same as building a new highway.
I'm prepping a story for CBC on the state of football at the U SPORTS level. I'm open to any and all feedback. Here's some research that should set off a series of alarms.
One thing continues to impress me with the vast majority of 🇨🇦 university 🏈 coaches: If a Canadian kid gets a D1 shot, they are supportive and happy to see the player get the opportunity. It tells me our coaches are in it for the right reasons.

So, since the 10th I was told to isolate with a series of COVID-19 symptoms. The doctor informed me today that I have Influenza B with a bacterial bronchial infection. I never thought I’d be elated to have the flu and an infection for two weeks, but here we are.
Let’s move forward with confidence in what we’ve developed in over 150 years of Canadian football. Let’s dialogue with those globally who respect what we’ve achieved in our sport. And, if a visiting team wants a game here, stand proud & invite them to play our game.

Sorry as a play-by-play guy I disagree. Letting the opposing crowd tell the story is a great use of sound after a walk off home run or a game-winning goal in overtime. It lets the listener associate with the pain of losing. I think it was a great call For an announcer who was on
